OK hold the phone... Rifles has a root? I am MC MM MR a little scout and a little medic and I don't think I have a root... unless I misread an attack... now the highest level of startle shot on the other hand that is a damn usefull atack for big mean things. plus with head and leg shot on diffrent timers you can lay down some crazy dammage.
The root I mentioned in my post, paralyze, comes from the Combat Medic part of my template. It prevents the mob from moving or acting for several seconds, until it either wears off or the mob takes damage. I guess it might actually be classified as a mez, I always get the terms confused. ![]()
Rifleman does have the snare kneecap shot, however. Which is also very useful for kiting melee mobs.
Oops, I also noticed I wrote sniping shot instead of conceal shot in part of it. I'll edit that now. ![]()

I did it with three people, and I think it could have been done with just two. I am a Master Carbineer/Master Bounty Hunter, and I had a Master Rifleman/Master Bounty Hunter and a Master Doctor/Master Pistoleer with me. The Doctor didn't ever need to heal me, and added little extra firepower. The rifleman did most of the work, destroying the power crystals, and soloing Daktar. As was described earlier, I used a pet to pull off the Sith Shadow Thugs, etc. so that Mellichae and Daktar were usually the only ones in the camp.
When the last crystal was mostly destroyed, Daktar and Mellichae went aggro on us, and I pulled Mel away while the rifleman finished off the crystal and ran from Daktar. Once the crystal was down, she got some good shots in on him, and the Doctor and I finished off Mellichae.
Looking through the combat log, Mel hit me for a total (over about 4 hits) of around 170 points of damage. Daktar was a little more effective against the rifleman, but was not hitting as hard as I had been told to expect.
As for soloing, it would be difficult, but well within the realm of possibility, I think.
