hmm..ok. So there's no reason not to keep your jedi char, because you get glowy, wait for the old man, wait for the sith, go through the phases and do the quests and grinds, beat up Machille, get jedi initiate, then finally do real quests to get padawan. After doing all with, is there any reason why you shouldn't keep jedi? If you ask me, I think dev intended for most players to become jedi because after going through all the trouble the player would havefinallygottenthe second slot but spent months working their way to jedi. Dev didn't think about the people that justwanted a second slot so they make everyone become jedi to get it.

If everyone is going for Jedi they will be too busy grinding to get on the forums and complain that grinding is not the same as content. Then the Devs and coders will finally get some free time to finish up JTL and the combat balance and they will both be perfect and wonderful and everything we have ever hoped for. Then when we wake up from that delusion we will notice that there has been some sort of time shift and we are in the prequals and tons of jedi running around will go right along with the story.

Nobody knows this first-hand correct?
I thought TH said that you would unlock when you got 24 skill boxes (6 full branches) of FS skills. Which would lead you to do be at the Initiate level, not Padawan. I didn't think we would know for certain till someone ground through all the FS xp and got 6 full branches and didn't have it automatically unlocked due to Hologrinding credit.
Can anyone confirm one or the other?

And also, once you unlock your 2nd slot, can you lose your padawan and initiate skills with your first character and still have your 2nd open?

When you finish your 6 branches and do the exit quest you are directed to a force shrine, meditating here allows you to start your padawan trials. There are 16, one of them is crafting a lightsaber, when you are given this trial you become a Jedi Initiate (the order is random). When you finish the trials completely you become a Jedi Padawan and can create a second character. You cannot drop padawan nor any of the FS skills that you used to get padawan.

Just to clarify, you cannot drop Padawan or Initiate skills and still have your 2nd slot open after unlocking it? It will disappear? Do the trials require a certain number of initiate boxes learned or are they objective based?

You can't drop Initiate or Padawan box period. To get to the trials you need the 6 full FS trees done, kill Mellichae for the exit quest and then go meditate at a shrine.

Thanks for the reply, but I hope that changes. That is Not what TH said before. I know I shouldn't be surprised but blech. That screws up my whole plan. I didn't want to be a Jedi, I just wanted to unlock my 2nd slot and play them both as non-jedi characters. I'm pretty sure that he said that it was possible. It was probably so long before the revamp the forgot it or overlooked it. I don't understand why you shouldn't be able to drop Padawan, initiate and the FS boxes and get SPs back for them. Goes against the rest of the entire profession system. 
I can understand not being able to drop padawan or the 2nd slot will go away, but not being able to drop it and get SP back for it? Blech. Glad I'm not a Jedi.

padawan and initiate don't take any skill points. You can see this yourself in the skillbox.

The 2nd Slot was meant 2 be a reward for players who were "Lucky" enough 2 open up a Jedi Slot or "FS". I dont know 2 much on how the 2nd works bec im on my way there 2. But I know that u do recieve your 2nd chara. after you recieve the title of Padawan and have completed all 16 trials.

I agree. I do NOT want a Jedi and I do NOT want to have to waste 24 of my precious skill credits on FS skills that I have no use for (we don't get enough Skill Credits as it is). All I do want is that second Character slot.

All the padawan trials must be done, they'll be given to you by the force shrines in a random order. There are 16.
