About the survey quest, it seems there are at least 2 different quest to survey. Another of them is named "Find shield generator resources" on journal

and for completing it as stated on above posts it rewards you with Inorganic Survey Device. When i completed the find shield gen resource quest at least

there was no message displayed about any unlocked FS brances. Other one of them was named "Find village Wall Resources" on the journal and

it gave Organic Survey Device as reward as well unlock Heightened Senses - Surveying skill branch as Mankind stated above.

I am also bit curious about the containers, the ithorian npc who gives the quest takes them if you drag & drop them from your inventory to him

(like in nyms themepark etc. ) but at least there did not seem to be any effects in doing this.

After completing the survey missions for Eozlin I was given an 'inorganic survey tool' which as you might guess is a single survey tool that can survey for any inorganic resource (as opposed to using separate Mineral, Gas etc ones).
You also get some containers (one per sample) but I am unsure if these are used in subsequent quests or just decorative.

After completing this series of quests on TC2 on aug 14th, I was given an _organics_ survey device, so there seems to be multiple possible rewards. This device can survey and sample any organic including, for example, meat. Which is somewhat annoying since I am a creture hunter on the live. What's the point of being a hunter when any FS artisan can dig the stuff up?

Nice work. I have one question. For Captain Sarguillos 2nd Phase mission, how do you find the datapad to get the remote? Kill random sith or find a base? Because I went to many of the WP listed and found nothing.

StGabriel, first, thanks for the awesome guide. However, you may want to change the line of Rohak being the elder to 72 font and bold print with smileys on either side. Thankfully the devs took a hint off the 10000 lines of spam related to this and added the (elder) tag to Rohak on TC2.

Last night I completed the survey quest for Eozlin. It's fairly simple and doesn't require you to go back to the mission-giver after every successful survey. For each successful survey you get a special resource item (it looks more like a loot item than an actual resource container, and they don't seem to be stackable). These resource items seem to be used for the overall construction of the Village Shields. When looking at the draft schematics for it and its components, they all require these special resource items that you happen to get from surveying. The problem is they need them in large quantities and at the most I only had 2-3 of the same special resources after completing the survey quest. I have no idea if they are lootable or somehow harvestable (they are not listed with a normal mineral surveying tool or inorganic surveying tool that you get from completing the quest). What I was able to do was talk to the binary load lifter and told him I wanted to contribute to the shield building project. That opens an inventory container for it, and I tried dragging all my special resources in there. It accepted 2 of them but the rest it wouldn't take. The ones it did take vanished from my inventory and were also not viewable in the droids inventory. I never tried giving the items to Eozlin.

The survey quest unlocked my Luck branch (heightened senses). Another person I talked to had his luck branch unlocked as well. A third person had his Survey branch unlocked (heightened senses). So at least at this point it seems the branch unlock is random within the applicable FS tree, in this case heightened senses.

Great guide StGabriel, not 'just' useful but a great example of how folk can work together to unravel some of the puzzles we're facing. Info below may be of use:

Working on the assumption that I needed x badges I started the warren, collected the Compassion badge, did a /check and was 'faint'. Two three attempts with my cloned Live character, a master ranger / novice pistols / novice rifles, to complete the warren resulted only in my dying a few times.

Revamped the character, took him to MR / Master Rifle. Buffed and armoured. On way back to warren was aggroed by a pack of piket I flew into. Dropped the bike, killed one piket that seemed determined to stick with me across half od the planet. As soon as it hit the ground the old man appeared. Midway through the dialogue I was aggroed by another piket and he ran off.

Lost connection shortly after. Logged in much later. Tweaked character again, rebuffed.

Figuring that the kill had triggered the old mans visit (I'd read somebody else had had a visit after killing a Tusken) I went out and shot the first animal I came across. (An NPC had aggroed on me in the MO while I was retraining but nothing had spawned). Again, as soon as the prey dropped the old man appeared. This time the conversation went OK and he gave me the crystal to look after.

*** Two strangers turn up after the first creature I kill following logging on again.

Also, only just read that TC2 toons have access to the village 'instantly'. Bah and bah some more. Still, at least, oh something... /exit

I would like to add an entry about another Phase 2 quest. I did this one on TC1 before the Captain's, and thus was unable to complete his. I can't remember the name of the quest giver at the moment, but the quest is called "Search and Destroy II". The general gist of it is that you're going to strike the auxilary sith bases before they're able to attack you. The quest giver gives you an item called a radiation detector which sits in your datapad, and explains to you that this is how they pick up on the location of the bases. He tells you that when used, it will display a threat level based upon the closeness of the Sith base. This is essentially a game of hot and cold, and as you start moving in a direction, the device's reading will lower or rise depending on how close you are to a base. Once you reach a certain level, you find the base and generally between 1 and 8 enemy Sith. The first 7 mission contain standard Sith NPCs but the 8th contains a minor boss NPC called a Sith Shadow Taskmaster who has 15k HAM and 70% resists to all. Upon completion of the quests you receive and item called "Ranged Defense" which is a 5 use item and can be used to grant a +10 Ranged Defense bonus for 300 seconds. So glad I got that instead of the mindbuff crystal . I didn't get any message about unlocking any branches, but when I first talked to the quest giver he told me that doing the quests would enable me to progress through the Ranged Defense line (under Enhanced Reflexes). I don't have enough xp to test that yet.

--- Phase 3 ---

Village Assault!
Quest Giver: Captain Sarguillos
Task: You must defend the village from attacking enemies. Enemies will attack the village throughout this phase (once every 2 hours). You will have to defeat two waves of: 50 sith outlaws and 25 sith lieutenants. When you do this the first time you will get "task completed" notification and will get another set of missions. When you complete it the second time you will unlock two FS branches. The captains dialogues are not working this quest as yet and we are not sure if there is a further reward or how to obtain this.
FS Branch Reward: Combat Prowess: Ranged speed & Enhanced Reflexes: Melee Defense
Item Reward: ?

I just did this quest a couple hours ago, and thought I would try to add a few details to whats posted here.

When I talked to the captain, he was spouting a bunch of letters and numbers, I just clicked the top option when prompted, and he gave me the quest. Eventually I found out that the thugs and lieutenants that I needed to kill were acutally the Sith Thugs and Pirates (respectively) spawning OUTSIDE the Village. The ones spawning INSIDE the Village are for another quest (my guess is the medic one). Since there were a ton of people out there I just decided that I would start a group, because I hoped that group kills would count. I had gotten there just after the last wave came, so I had to wait there about an hour until the next wave started. When it came, I just constantly mashed my tab key and my fluorishing shot 2 key (im a rifleman). I do think I had an advantage over melee classes, as I just kind of kneeled to the side of everyone and was able to use my area attack. Once you kill the first 50 thugs and 50 pirates, you are instantly given another quest to do the same thing over. Fortunately respawn rate was high, so I was able to complete all parts, and I was given the two FS Branch rewards described.

As I did this, I kept thinking this is way too easy. But then I reminded myself that there are tons and tons of people here, and if I had to do this by myself or in a small group... I think it is very possible I could be overwhelmed.

Also, once it was all over (quest completed in my journal) I tried to go back to the captain to get the next quest, but just found him trying to give me the same quest again. Luckily it didn't. But then I walked around to every other NPC in the village and found that none of the quest givers would give me another quest. So I think it is only possible to do one quest per phase, but it should be possible to unlock 2 FS branches per phase.

A quick edit. I do not believe that group kills help here in terms of getting credit for Sith thug and pirate kills. The reason: I was able to complete the quest myself along with some other people in my group, but there were people in my group that did not get credit, and had to wait for the next wave. Being in a group only helps remove some of the corpses, as usually theres a melee guy running around looting for you... and the corpses can get stacked pretty high causing lag.
