I do agree this would get rid alot of the jedi's but bad idea and the devs must have thought so too or they wouldn't have took it out. Plus if you work 5 - 7 months a jedi account and loose it in 1 sec that would suck, and be really crappy cause you paid for them months of play and have nothing to show for it. But there should be some changes done to the system I just don't think this is the key to what needs to be done.

What about you imperials going into Coronet overt, light jedi crawling under your skin over and over again.Well if your sick of it like I am /sign here. Hopefully the dev's actually read this petition. This will bring back the good ol' days, remember the holo grind? Jedi didn't dare wear robes or have a lightsaber equipped because it increased visible, and they only had 3 deaths. After that they were completely 100% dead, start a jedi over. All it took was 1 single death./sign
Erm, were you even around then? Jedi didn't wear robes because they didn't have them, they were introduced in publish 9.
It's a bad idea, it will never happen, so just accept that.

6 months ago was good ol' days for a lot of people
I say bring back permadeathwith some rules.
#1.) As a Jedi, you are granted 5 deaths by the system without penalty.
#2.) As a Jedi, after you die on the 5th death, every death that follows will drop a random skill box.
#3.) If a Jedi dies within 24 hours of losing a skill, s/he loses 2 skills on top of that
#4.) If the Jedi follows up with another death within the same 24 hour period, s/he is demoted to Initiate to restart.
#5.) Cycle restarts..
Something like this, where accidental deaths are minor misfortunes, would be sound, yet punish those who feel it necessary to show off.
Also rules like these would help clean up the visual aspects.
Jedi who wear a jedi tag, cause visibility on themselves (not at a high rate.. rather slowly, but surely)
Jedi who wield a lightsaber, on or off, cause visibility on themselves (not at a high rate.. rather slowly, but surely)
And then, to make things a little nicer for jedi as well
LET THEM GROUP WITH OTHER JEDI PLEASE!
This game is meant for the masses, which means playing with other people. Having the enjoyment of friends to play with and share with your experiences. By limiting a Jedi to be a complete recluse, you are killing the whole reason 90% of people play this game. That is friends.

I'm still pretty new to SWG (started being of Jan) and a lot of the appeal is the jedi factor. I can accept the fact that getting to jedi status is a very long and hard process, but i think the reward itself is being able to say "I am a Jedi". Now if I get to say that once, and then lose my char because of some stupid stuff like a connection loss or squad spank when i'm out doin my thing then the appeal to become jedi is all but lost. no way would i work my arse off 7 months just to have the character stripped away in less than 5 minutes. there is always a way to fix something to your liking, but a few months down the road once everyone readjusts somebody else will start a complaint like this, and personally i don't like the idea of switching something like this off and on...

By bringing back permadeath, you wouldn't have to grind the village again, but only restart at initiate. Yes it would be a tough grind back up from padawan to knight, but it wouldn't be as bad as doing the village all over again.

Get a big group together and gank em, if they come in numbers, more power to them imo.

Why permadeath...I cannot fathom why anyone would want that? Has it occurred to us that the CU could potentially settle the issue of the Jedi population and its visibility?
1.) The changes to all the core math may completely kick FS Grinders square in the pants. For all we know..grenades and triple melee capping, etc. may come to a screaching halt...many players have warned to get a core template NOW and prepare for the CU b/c of increased difficulty in JUST GRINDING A BASIC COMBAT TEMPLATE (plus death to stacking...HELLO? that is going to impact MANY players).
2.) It is entirely possible that the math will impact grinding padawans as well...and trust me that will REALLY slow them down and turn many players off to Jedi. When you can only max at just over 1k Jedi xp per kill, rumors of math changes scare the heck out of us.
Its sort of funny reading the forums ATM, b/c the truth is none of the petitions, "concepts", and theories are really relevant to discuss in re: to core game combat now..
This system is DEAD - Id save all this until the real system arrives...

I dunno is the Combat Revamp going to effect jedi at all? I haven't been keeping up with the combat revamp stuff, but I'm guessing they will not be messing with jedi at all. They already devoted 1-2 patches already to jedi in the form of the village and general class handlings. I think it's time they are giving the normal classes of the game some fixes/balance.

How about... no
Permadeath sucks, only thing I think - is that walking around inside NPC cities should be much more dangerous
IE... When in a large city like Coronet (While on the BH terminals, also make it so you get visibility for just holding the saber, not igniting it(Not in places like Endor science outpost though)) a huge group of 200k Stormies should spawn
Id have thought that that would make Jedi a much more interesting class, for both Jedi and non-Jedi

Unless one came become Jedi in something less that 4.78 years, using less than 759 million resources, and 48.2 million credits, then I vote NO
Now then, why should Jedi be perma-deathed, because YOU ran through the Starport overt? Hmmm why? Why punk? Why are you so special?
Oh wait you should be allowed to gank squad Jedi all day long, wiping them out with perma-death, but god forbid a Jedi jump on an overt of opposite faction.
Want perma-death? I say implement it for ALL professions. Everyone of them as in the sh*tty AFK-24/7 loot campers, the artisans, the DE, the entertainers, yup ALL of them. To clarify this: A L L professions, starting with yours.
All of the "I'm Hip, because I'm on the Anti-Jedi bashing, because I'm too lazy to get Jedi myself, gank squad" Jedi haters need to stop with these posts, there are other professions out there, stop thinking and posting of ways to make the game better suite YOU.
