Very informative post !!!

I wish the devs would read it though... because if they would honor their promise to let players drop all FS skills & revert back to a non-FS template, then many Padawans would be dropping Padawan only & not quitting the game entirely.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Jedi need to be uber, and rare. Bring back permadeath but make it almost impossible to kill a padawan. Make lightsabers do thousands of damage, as they should. Make saber block work on melee attacks. Make the force something to be reckoned with. Jedi are a joke. I grind cause I have nothing better to do when I'm home from college, and I want to take a few screenshots of me holding a lightsaber, after that I will probably just grind out the newest FotM and do some PVP.

Too many people make the mistake of trying to do it all as quick as they can. Like the FS quests where people say they are sick of running back and forth to do the quest missions etc.

Well like the phase 2 whip quest im doing now, Im only doing one trip per day. It might take longer, but Im using my XP elsewhere at the moment anyway. So it doesnt really matter if it takes a week, as i still wont have XP free to use it on that skill.

So why rush.

I dont often grind soley for XP either. Usually im doing something else and the grind is an in-between thing. I know this will change once i get padawan, but for now its ok. I tend to guild and make sales, go help the newbies, sit around chatting, do an off-beat quest. Anything to just make the game more than a grind.

Grinding constantly will make you bored real fast. There is so much else to do. Sure you wont be the biggest and best real quick,b ut you will enjoy it a whole lot more.

I havn't killed a padawan in a while since i switched from pistols to TKM but i have killed quite a few in the past. Man i have alot of karma coming my way once i get to jedi........

noooooooooooooooooo, Dont quit killing Jedis!!! Thats the Fun , when u kill them and make sure that they clone, so they loose xp Thats the BH Job, SO dont feel Bad about it, Bercause when they become knights They go out PVPing killing evryone , They dont think about destroying the fun of this game, so why would u feel bad in killing Pawdaws??? I unluked 2 jedis myself, and gave them to friends to play, I think This game is soooo bad now because of Jedis, Jedis should be forced to fight Jedis or BH , They should be removed from GCW......

Making jedi rare will only make paying players rare as well. Jedi only need to "appear" rare.

The whole "should Jedi be in SWG" debate has been going on since before we ever saw a Jedi ingame... & every problem that has risen from their introduction has been due to their poor implementaion, not the concept. This is StarWars... of course Jedi belong here... & of course the majority of StarWars fans would like to play one. The problem is that these "duh" concepts have never been realized in a satisfactory manner that fits in with this timeline. It could easily be done to the satisfaction of ALL players on either side of the debate with a little out of the box thinking.

Yes, very good and helpfull post. Thanks for taking the time to type it all out.

I knew the Jedi grind wasn't going to be an easy one. This is why I am taking

my time and enjoying the professions I have started. BH and Pistoleer.

My plan right now, is to well, like I said before is to enjoy my professions

and max out on FS exp before I train.

Great info!

But i see one more thing in here why do peopl quit.

Cause people are not looking for context and fun in this game.

The only fun people see is when they are invincible.

Challenge is not an option as u can loose.

I'm gonna get that jedi and u know what will be the first thing i'll do?

I'll stand in the middle of the most crowded city and will pull my sabre out.

Andthis will be the point where the fun of the game will start. Just like when i was a noob and killing squills in 15 people groups were something BIG.

well thanks for your encouragements but ... 10 hours to get novice SL ? humm ... I ve just done 15k xp on Dire Cat on Corellia in 2 hours .. so pls dont feel obliged to dramatize the grind as am sure its already hard enough

I agree that 10 hours is a bit overestemated but if your not prepared and know what to hunt it will take two buff sessions.....

It took me 5-6 hours the first time(I somehow surrendered novice saber:-() but only 3 hours the next time around as I knew what I was doing......

But I couldn't agree more with the grind from saber 0020 to 0030 it was the most crueling and painfull experience ever! butIgot even morehorrified with the grind from0030 to 0040.....but after that backbreaking experience it feels like your starting to make some headway as the xps come a lot easier.....

Wonderful post! Makes me tremble with excitement )

One question though... does grouping with a droid help reduce the prementioned times? I've noticed in my fs grind that I get 10% more xp that way.

its not QUITE as hard as the original poster made it out. but its very damn close. make SURE you have the hero of tatooine ring. you DO NOT want to take a XP hit at this level. do not putz around and show off.

the grind to novice sabers can be done in one and a half buffs or even one buff if your lucky with your hits. do corellian dire cats and use berserk religously along with citrus snowcake and pikata pie.

once you get novice sabers go get the other novice boxes right away. this gives you more force to use more regen and greater jedi difficulty.

jedi difficulty is the most important part. it lets you get more XP per kill and do more damage per hit.

go to endor and group a pet for the XP bonus your too weak to handle a sologroup 5 critter lair. once you have all the novices pick a saber style you like and stick with it to box3 of sabers. your looking for arachne drones. once you get box 1 of sabers and your novices go to dantooine and its quenkers till box3. from box3 to 4 its huntresses. after huntresses its voritor trackers/quenker relic reapers/ seething bols.

once you have box3 of sabers get channel and then you can use all those crappy tuned crystals you hate for the rest of the grind in your gen2 saber. channel is underestimated for the grind. this means you can grind nonstop without waiting for force to regen naturally. at box3 your swing speed is fast enough that force becomes a issue. until box 3 your using force and only slightly faster rate than it regens.

now i didnt really grind hard to get to box 4 of 2 handed. i made jedi about 2 days before JTL was released. i went and mastered pilot and made my second character intoa shipwright and basicaly did nothing with jedi for all of november. i started doing about a buff every 2nd or third day till two weeks ago working on jedi. these last two weeks i went from sabers 0200 and all novices to getting sabers 0400 enahncer 0002 powers 1000 and the other novices saturday nite. yesterday i fooled around messing with the box4 specials and moves and ended the weekend with sabers 04002 and the rest unchanged.

a real dedicated grinder doing 2 buffs a day can do it a lot faster than i did. one of my friends got jedi two phases after me and he is into his 10th or 12th knight trial...

yeah the grind is bad getting to box 4 is your last test. if you make it to box4 and keep your desire intact and dont burn yourself out its a whole different grind from there. me i am truly enjoying jedi since i am working on a skillset i want to have not what the FOTM people SAY i should have.

the grind is badit is very bad it is hard it is mind numbing but think of it as what luke faced when he was with yoda doing his grind. the reward is in box4 of sabers. stick it out to there and you will be fine. just dont expect it to be a week and your jedi with power...

depends on your skills you have in jedi. at sabers 3 all novices and enahancer 0002 you get 500 and change for a quenker and 800 and change for a huntress. from sabers 1 to 3 stick with quenkers they are the best xp over time. otehrs give more but they take longer to kill reducing your XP over time.

other critters give equitable XP but those are the easiest to find on the terms.
