I agree. It makes more sense but then again, just about all other Elite or Hybrid professions have multiple types of xp needed for mastery. I guess they half-assed Commando so much that they just decided to make everything Heavy Weapons and stuck the Grenadier branch w/ Combat xp. *shrug* I think Commando needs a Combat xp oriented branch that includes Commando specials *gasps at the thought*, a grenades xp branch for the grenades *gasps again*, and the other two branches could use Heavy Weapons *starts to gasp but just chokes instead*

I think monkies will learn to fly before anything like that ever happens though.

If you have a Jedi spinning the lair, you can usually do this, of course I'm not speaking for every Jedi and it's kind of hard to find a Jedi spinning a lair... -_-

Inever have used a grenade to grind... used one and seen how bad it was... ONE... and then I destroyed every last one of my grenades.

The problem with the "as long as no one heals me" justification is this means no one in the group can use an ae heal.

This is in effect only after you nade, but before the incap, once you get incapped anyone can heal you and you're fine. I do it with guildies on a nightly basis, hell they expect me to throw a nade before anyone starts pulling, even have some that "tap" the lair to cause more to spawn, but you run in and nade, get incapped then run out. That simple, I'd grind my last FS tree regularly but it's gotten to the point where I'm going to be waiting on Jedi becuase of the grind, and not Village phases. I don't want to play catch-up During dbl xp days it was the greatest thing, but now it's more of a pain, having to run to the Village every 300k combat xp, having to rinse and repeat at least 4 times for a Tier 4 box. Not the best way or most exciting to grind, but it gets the job done. Sucks that they are nerfing it, especially for the people who use them in a legit way, the few there are.

But do people really need to use an area heal when your fighting Bols? If the group is taking one Bol at a time it means only 1 person is taking damage, so you only need to focus on healing that 1 person and do not need to use area heals.

Um.. you people do know that if you throw a grenade at Bolsit ONLY agrosthe person grenadingand the lair DOES NOT ATTACK EVREYONE. They only attack you after you atttack them. To help a person witht the FSgrind they can throw a nade at the begining of the lair get incapped and back up and the group can go in and kill the lair as normal. I have 2 alts on at once one runs in and nades the other goes in and kills the lair. workseverytime.

You forgot the most important part...

YOU become a huge drag for the group because you don't help them kill anything...I will leave any group that has anyone in it doing this, and i kick anyone in my group that I catch doing it...you are affecting MY xp/hr rate like this and I don't take kindly to it...and neither do a lot of other people.

Get in a jedi spin group. Chuck them at a Piket (don't throw it at the lair as the nade will only hit so many critters). I suggest waiting till they crowd around someone spinning, then throw it. Keep your map up (ctrl+m). Zoom all the way (ctrl+mouse wheel) in...then go one click out. Hit all of the ones that are still yellow with your weapon. Don't AOE. Once you get to the last yellow one, just concentrate killing that one. Watch the spawns...gotta keep an eye on how long your timer is. By killing the yellows, you're still helping the group...and in a spin group, no one ever got mad at me. I finished my FS grind last night, thinking it was going to happen today. 1.2 mill FS xp in one night is pretty tough...especially w/o MBH. GL with everything, and I hope this post helps.

I say:

I am not a drag on the group!! I have a second alt on at the same time KILLING the lair. It affects NO ONE at all NO aggro, No slow down of your xp, Nothing. Combat xp is getting Nerfed to slow the Jedi pop. Not because of nades alone. Believe what you want and blame who you want. It's all the Devs. fault and noone else.

Try this in a group I lead and find yourself disbanded immediately. Why don't you just fight for your xp like any other decent person?

Grenades are so useless. I feel so ripped off having to spend so much xp on a whole branch that I will never use because:

a) I can't craft my own grenades (even though a Scout can craft his or her own traps and camps).

b) Actually finding and keeping a regular stock of them is not only a chore but just impractical.

c) They do so little damage as compared to the rest of my weapons and cause so much aggro that they are completely pointless anyway!

Anyway about this whole grenade grinding thing... there are two ways to go about it.

1) Toss a grenade at the lair BEFORE everyone starts pulling. The nade will hit everything (lair, all creatures around it) and if you do not use your weapon or heal, you will get full combat xp for everything that your grenade hit when it is killed. However you will get incapped nearly instantaneously. The upside to all this is, that if your groupmates do not help you, they will not get attacked and can go about mindlessly slaughtering bols/pikets/nunas as usual. The only problem with this is that some people may be offended by this since they will be doing more work than you... which... is kinda true.

2) The second method, and least intrusive to group hunting, is to wait until the group has the lair down to 1 creature at a time and just toss a nade at the creature and wait. After they kill it and another spawns, toss another, ad nauseum. I finished the grenades branch this way when working on Master Commando and it worked out nicely without pissing anyone off. Dont forget, don't attack the lair/nest at all, and before it's about to go down, toss a grenade at it. You will earn yourself a nice chunk of combat xp.
