Thread: My 6th Unlock: Do I laugh or cry?
Ah! This is sounding better. I'd heard from others that Initiates with their training sabers had a hard time even dealing with nunas.

At master LS it'll just be 25 saber block, but advancing through the FRS is supposed to increase it to 85 after the CU, plus other professions are being changed, too, so it may not be any harder to PvP.
When it comes down to it, though - there will be some abilities to compensate for the loss of saber block. Saber block became the primary means of defense for a Jedi (hence why Master sabers was so popular). When a shotgets through, boyis it painful. It slams your HAM pretty hard. There will now be unarmored toughness added to the Initiate box for starters (+20 I do believe) and that will help mitigate some damage at least.
Without Defender, a Jedi in the current system is like a newbie without armor - no defenses. The damage you take is dealt to you directly. That makes HAM management a nightmare, especially when you suddenly takes 1,000's of points of damage out of the blue. So, the defenses in saber block might not be as good, but there will be compensation - used to be that saber block saved your *ss. Now at least we get +20 toughness as Jedi Initiate. That's right, the second you get your first training lightsaber, you get a mod to mitigate damage you take. That'll help big time. I was a stimming fool when I was a Jedi Initiate. I just got smacked around badly by low level stuff.

I just got through with initiate, with TKM defenses and not much else I was able to take down weaker tortons without much problem. I must say that novice saber makes a ton of difference though and l kill pickets and voritors on dath without major problems (I am not advocating grinding on those, they are just around my house :^) )

Cool!
What are typical damage ranges for the various generations of sabers?
