Because, having the own damage type makes you do far too much damage. Besides, how do you know how much damage you will do after the CU comes live? I doubt it will be less then a blaster...
Um one thing about that... because we do FAR so much more damage is how much time we put in our characters... 18 weeks... i can get just about any elite projession mastered in less then 2... and i play only on weekends... and not even that much... its so easy getting master anything, jedi takes forever... so if they made jedi's suck, why be them? They made CH suck, why be them? have you noticed the drop in CH's from the beginning of this game till now... and with that, their has to be jedis... its part of starwars... and if they dont do any damage, then how are they so feared? Plus they are wielding a big huge pulsing laser... if they do less damage then a blaster shot then how would it be realistic?
People these days -_-

they don't do less dmage than a blaster shot. they do the same damage type, but do a lot more damage. people keep complaining about LS doing energy damage but they don't actually understand how it works with a LS and the fact that it does more damage than other weapons. moral of the story: stop crying and go on TC! (either that or get drunkit's working for me at the moment)

from what i've read it is the colour of the crystal in your saber that will denote the elemental damage. you dont pick an elemental damage as you tune the crystal as far as i can see
Well that will suck, their will probably be a large number of jedi with the same crystal cause it is the best element, and you know there will eventually be a best element.

i dont think there will be a best elemental damage, but something similar will happen. any jedi with any brains will carry around as many different coloured crystals as possible, thus allowing them to swap in whichever colour they want when they see what armour their opponent is wearing. for example, if you know that your opponent has no acid damage, simply put your green crystal into your saber (presuming green is going to be acid damage) and you will deal out the damage.
this is also a good point for all those people who cry about not doing as much damage any more and the LS being energy damage. you will actually be able to change your damage type (elemental) when you want to counteract your opponents armour, so stop crying and get on with it

Good point. But i still think that the elemental damages would cause to much conformity. I have personally always wanted to make and use a Purple Double bladed saber, sort of a hommage to both my favorite characters Darth Maul and Windu. But the purple color crystal's elemental damage may be bad or useless for the majority of my fights. I know you might say "Well just keep the crystal in most of the time." or something having to do with not using it when i absolute need to. But the point is the principle of the thing: LS damages should not be reguated/bound by crystal color.

I heard you can get another color crystal from grevious, is this true? If so can some post a pick and what type of elemental damage it does.

Its not exactly uber hard or impossible, I think he was like level 97 and even without destroying the power cores (Spawned outside of the cave /doh.) hes killable, only problem Ive got is whenwe went to it the other day we got a message saying the encounter isnt avaliable atm or words to that effect, tried another instance of the cavern (Noone was in the cavern other then us.) and I got a loading screen as normal and was then warped out to the gate to the forest..?
