Currently you have to master profs to become a jedi, as holocrons doesnt tell you which prof you should go for , you dont have much chance to open it before publish10.So you should wait for pub10 and do quests =)

Hi, welcome.
Right now, the way to become a jedi is in the middle of being changed. It used to be that you had to master a few professions which were randomly chosen for you when you created your character. Guessing the right ones proved to be very tough, and lots and lots of people got into a habit of just madly mastering profession after profession until they got the message that they "unlocked" their force sensitivity.
This caused a great deal of problems for the game as a whole, so they are changing it.
The new way, will have something to do with a village where you go and get quests which will apparently be given out by NPCs. We have no idea really at this point what that will entail, since neither the village nor the quests has been added to any servers. No one has seen the new system yet.

The first part, before the village quests, will require you to become force sensative. No one knows how you will do this yet. It is a mystery as to how one becomes sensative to the force in the new system.
Odds are it will have something to do with the basics of the game. I would suggest completing one of the 3 major themeparks, go exploring the different poi's that give badges, and master an elite/hybred profession as good guesses for a start on the road to force sensativity.
Road to becoming a Jedi Knight:
1. Become Force Sensative. (Unknown how this is done in the new system)
2. Complete the village quests which take you from force sensative to Jedi Padawan (Going to be a very long process).
3. Gain Jedi experience and spend all your skill points on Jedi skills. (Already is a very long process)
4. Complete the Jedi Knight trials

Yeah... Where are these shrines? And what is needed before you can meditate at them? And is this even in effect yet, or is it coming in pub 10?

I just selected Jedi as a starting profession in the tutorial. You didn't get that option?

I swear, does no one do any research on their own? This instant gratification that we have come to expect is so destracting.
Read this board. Read the articles on the SWG site, there are dozens of comments on how to do it.
