Making the grind itself longer and more arduous is not the answer, extending the length of the phase would be the true solution.

I used to ba able to unlock a branch, then just grind it out in a few days to a week, then I would take the rest of the 2 weeks in the phase to enjoy the rest of the game(PVP, JtL, Questing, Missions, Etc.)

Now your telling me I have to spend the entire phase just grinding if I hope to see jedi ever? By requiring more grinding it leaves the FS no downtime in between phases..

To restate my point, phases should be longer, not the grind.

(because come on, wouldn't you rather have more free time to do the rest of your stuff?)

Good idea, people should unlock all the phases, but only need to grind out 6 trees, that would hold people off for a while. ***Sarcasm***

SOE should re-evaluate the entire village system and replace with with a series of quests that are 'dynamic' that could not be easily documented on player sites or in the forums. Something that would be a challenge, something to replace all the needless grinding with some fun content to the game.

I don't actually have the time or the inclination to grind enough xp in three weeks, and I would welcome extended phases.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. I thought once you unlocked the trees, you have as much time to fill the trees regardless if that phase that unlocked it is still going on. I figured you could essentially spend 1 time during each phase and unlock a tree. And then, after you have them all unlocked, you could start your grind. Obviously this would be a stupid thing to do but it just makes it easier to understand what I'm saying.... I think

This is so, Kadin. I've one character that I unlocked a skillbranch on back in... um... say first phase 3 there ever was, she's gotten her first box in that, which I only got around to getting ground out 2 months ago.

So really, you could unlock and grind at your leisure, it's just that more or less everyone that goes jedi is on the lemming train, wanting it fast and wanting it _now_.

They wanted the fish back. How mean! =((

I'm not inclined to grind, I have enough boring repetetive stuff to do at work in RL without paying SOE for the pleasure of doing it in my spare-time.

I recently worked out that when I unlock my 6th tree in phase 4 I will still have to wait 2.25 years to get enough XP for Jedi playing the way I do. (ie. some pvp, some questing, some grinding)

The grind system just isn't the answer, it plays into the hands of those with lots of free time (even if i could be bothered to grind it would still take me over a year simply due to the lack of time I have to spend in game) and comepletely rules Jedi out for anyone with RL commitments.

As stated above a dynamic quest system, and a shunting of the Jedi into seperate (yet still accessible for BH reasons) areas is surely the only way forward.

I'm not going to hold my breath though
