giving the devs credit?? what is that some kind of joke? it is fine and dandy for those of us , who have finished it early, but what happens in about 2 weeks time, when a majority of the quest grinders have long finished? How about those casual gamers who are not like us, who anxiously await each phase shift? what happens then? it is fine when there are 100 some odd players fighting these sith gank squads, but what happens later on, when the number of quest grinders are greatly reduced because they finished their quest? pirates/outlaws are a piece of cake... but when those thugs start coming, its a different story. in the past phases there would be at least some population who can actually hang out there, and logoff and so forth, now becuase its filled with sith, you would be crazy to chose to log off there, b/c you would run the risk of basically loggin on asking where you would like to clone..... giving the devs credit, pfhh... ok.....whatever.

no disrepect branny but:

no disrepect tonythegreat (and i shudder at starting any conversation with someone insisting on self greatness). but what group are you referring to when you are doing this quest? There was no need to be grouped at all. There was no need for a Squad leader profession. There was no need for medics, there was no need for tactics. this quest was basically just to run around frantically tabbing away at yellow dots, hoping that you can tap them once to go red before the rest of the individuals, and i do say individuals because there was no need to be grouped, kill them. So where is the strategy involved? where is the GROUP aspect of it involved? it was a just a glorious free-for-all tony, and as a matter of fact, pales in comparrison when compared to phase 3.

these guys werent even HARD. i was tanking1-2thugs while getting hits on pirates and outlaws. i was nowhere near dying. NS rangers scare me more than thugs do. theres always going to be people working on the village. as long as people want to get that glowbat.

Well it took me 3 waves to complete. The 1st wave everyone was all over the place. No one hleping anyone else out. The secind 2 phases were very very much different. There were min of 2 groups of 20 each plus a smattering of others. 1 group on each side of the village with a doc in each group. You are telling us no need for medics. I tell you that without the docs things would have been very very ugly. They were rezing, buffing and healing in the middle of the battle. I have to help a doc out once or twice since a thug decided to aggro him. Personally the docs were a lifesaver. Group tactics were plenty that day too. Yes the outlaws and pirate would spwan, but if there were still some thugs around, people would concentrate on the thugs, since they are nasty little buggers, then work on the pirates / outlaws. People would also advise the location of a pirate so everyone would get a shot.

But back to the origins of this post. I fully enjoyed this quest!! The lag wast too too bad, but the worst part were the rocket launchers and the explosions. My ping stayed aroung 250 the entire time however FPS went down to 7 at the lowest. Bottom line i had a Blast and might even head back out to help others. And yes as the 3 weeks winds down, there will be fewer people in the village and harder to do, but it will still be fun.

Time to wait for phase I again so i can unlock my final branch. Woohoo

1st- if they wait 2 weeks to even think about doing it, oh well... better off to do it early (with other players there to help) and use the rest of the phase to gain xp... (dontcha think?)

2nd- sith gank squads???... lmao... please...

So let me get this right, they came up with a good, fairly easy quest that is working with tons of players all in one spot, server handling it fairly well, and that you have alreay finished... and now you're what, complaining it was too hard? going to be too hard for the people who dont bother to do it with everyone else?

I dont think the devs ever intened the village to be a place to log in and out, and make home...lol If you're weak, dont go right after server reset, wait for players to be there fighting off the "gank squads" lol These guys drop stuff, so my guess is people will be there killing them for the looted resources etc... there's also almost always a doc buffing there now...

reminds me of a saying... Some people just aren't happy, unless they aren't happy...

Pirates was an example to demostrate how bad the lag was. I'm not crying about the lack of pirates.

Only thing i was trying to tell is the REALLY bad lag i'm experiencing. You may not have the lag as bad as i do, so i'm sure it's been fun as hell.

Yes, the lag was horrible. I'm only there to heal and I ended up killing pirates and outlaws and thugs, OI thugs. I've done 4 spawns sofar and up to 35 heals. (you'd think it would have gone faster)

There's something about the sith spawning that causes the lag. When there are sith there, I get flooded with packets faster than my connection can take. When the very last Sith dies, everything goes back to rainbows and care bears, even with the million players all over.

It sucked.

Phase 3 combat is too strong, phase 4 too weak, BUT OMGLOL IT WAS FUN TO WIN SO FAST.

I would prefer some more balance.

It sucked.

When i did this phase on TC i hated it, and was very worried when it was approaching phase 4 on live because of one factor.

On TC you only got theacknowledgement of killing the pirate/outlaw if you inflicted the most damage, and spawns were actually static inside the village and were very slow, allowing one person to run an afk macro for an hour or so to get all the points they needed, as long a they out damaged everyone else.

Im so pleased the Devs took heed to what the testers said, great job on implementing this phase with the minimum of possible ways to grief other players

I had a good time with it. I almost finished on my first wave. It is not overly hard, but it is fun. I like the mass battle. It was star warsy reminded me of the gungan/droid battle. If your computer was lagging that sucks and I am sorry it messed it up for you. I had fun and it was not outrageously hard. It was nice to see doc's running around rezzing people and healing as part of a group. The only thing that sucked was the long wait between waves.

I give them credit for setting the XP low and allowing 1 hit to gt credit. BUT Phase 3 was much more challenging and fun

With a constant 20% packet loss and over 1000 ping times it's not that fun.

I had 2 waves of sith attack and still have 8 pirates to kill.

A pirate spawns, you target him, tell your toon to attack, until it recognizes your attack command the pirate is already dead.

It's a huge battle, and could have been fun, but lag is too annoying out there and kills all the fun..

Thank fully I did this Friday evening! It was one of the best experiences I've had on SWG and I've had many!! Although those that tried to do it yesterday with the MAJOR Packet Losses and Pings and a good 10min delay, God only knows how you coped!!

I was in a Massive PvP event and it was unbearable!!
