when you think about it, its only a grind if you make it that. You dont have to work really hard grinding to get anywhere in this game, it just gets you there faster, usually. Granted, getting the fs xp is probably one of the most boring things in the world, it is also probably easier than getting through jedi. But i'd think that being a jedi would also be extremely fun nonetheless. It's possible to take your time and go at your own pace. Jedi grinding might take longer but it can't possibly be as boring as spamming grenades at a lair for two weeks straight.

I'm grinding my rear off trying to get FS XP and due to time constraints, it's going to take me a loooong time. But when I get that lightsaber, I won't be grinding it. I'll be enjoying it. Doesn't matter how long it takes me to get Knight, it's just being a Jedi, playing a Jedi, that I want.

Please tell me...

1.what type of nades are you tossing?

2. where are you grinding at?

3. what are you tossing nades at?

To cap combat in 40 mins is equal to 125 combat xp per second. To travelto the village and back in 15mins, must mean you grind on Dath. Just asking cause I might need to change my grind!

I am not a commando, so I cant use the high end nades. c-12's baby! LMAO! I can toss a case per each hurton mission I take, and still need to finish them off with the gaffi. And at least on Gorath, its takes longet than 15 mins to get from Dant mining outpost to the village and back.

C-12's, Dant, huurton stalkers, but I get no where near the time is saying he does it in.

well i am 4xxx commando and that helps a lot. i do giant baz nitz lairs. i can take down a lair with 3,5*5 nades, and then the same when i go back milking it, this can be done in 3 full lairs. btw i use thermal detonaters.

and the grind is not so bad, marksman can be done in 2 hours and commando 4xxx can be done in 1

His experience matches mine from when I did it. I threw thermal detonators. Average 30 minutes to cap hunting giant baznitches. 400,000 force-sensitive XP per buff session was pretty effortless.

Key thing, I'm throwing C-12's, I'm not a commando

Therefore you wont get as much xp as he/I do less you change your template.

What are you keeping you current template for? Aren't you just going to give it up when you unlock anyway?

True, True. Good point. Several reasons. At the rate I'm going right now, I'm still going to be finished about a month early. I don't want to tear my template apart, because I still want to be able to take on the krayt hunting that's going to happen after I finish. My template is also near to what I want it to be for starting my jedi.

In these last 3 posts there was alot of "negative" force against Jedi grinding...

1. "Jedi is more of the same but with BH's coming to pick on middle of the road jedi."

IF you get visibility...

2. "Jedi is a lotttt longer. If you think the village is long and boring and you complain and hate it then you shouldn't even go for jedi."

I wouldt go so far to say: "if you hated the village dont go for Jedi." Many will agree with me and say grinding with a light-sabre is all

worth it.

3. "jedi get hunted a lot especially if you are weak and considered an easy mark. So jedi can be a real long grind with many setbacks."

It can be alot of setbacks, but do it right and people wont even know your a Jedi before your template is done. I know Jedi's who has

made it WITHOUT getting visibility.

..and no Im no Jedi.

i made jedi under the new system and worked up 24 skills under the old system gaining 3 unlocks in the process.

the way i see it before i was FS i knew i had to go through the trials so there was a long grind of FS ahead of me. then the devs changed the reward to a full branch of XP for an unlock and it got a little brighter. but i still knew i had two grinds to go before i was done. very depressing.

finally made FS and started the village did 3 phases and all the XP that went with it. very boring very long grind since i knew that XP wasnt going to any real use and i still had the paddywacker trials and the jedi XP ahead of me.

killed mellichae finished the trials and started working on novice LightSaber. turning that saber on for the first time and hearing the hum and the pink glow from the blade and i knew then it was all worth it. every step of effort and angst to get to that part, all worth it.

now i face the jedi grind but i know that every step i take along the path is one step closer to the final end to grinding. gone is the confusion and angst over grinding it is now fun. the sense of danger avoiding notice by player and npc alike adds a certain spice to the leveling and a sense of real danger for the first time in the game. yeah its going to take me a while but i no longer feel that "need" or "drive" to grind for the sake of grinding. i feel free to do what i want as fast or slow as i want.

getting jedi was a very personal experience and truly changed my outlook on how i spend my game time. before jedi it was all about the grind to get it. now that i have it i am having more fun in the game. its like everything is new again from when i was a raw noob wondering what would happen if i shot the krayt with the cdef in the tatooine desert

i know that after i finish the FS Grind (Waiting on Phase, aren't we all?) that this game will be much more enjoyable. I agree that it matters on the PoV.

There's a big difference between the two if you got no free unlocks. Jedi you can play at your own pace. FS if you concentrate and playalot will give you two + solid months of waiting with no way to work toward your goal.

I'm just hoping they don't work some sort of false delay into the jedi system as well before I get there.

I dont care how long i have to wait (probly over a month) to get to initiate. The fact is, the fs grinding is almost over for me. When i get to that point, no matter how much jedi grinding i have left, for me, it will all be over. Just being a jedi will make it not so much a grind. And it wont be as bad as the 70+ hours i spent spamming thermal detonators at a lair, or the millions of credits i threw away to get them.

I love optimism... I had plenty of it myself. I remember saying exactly what you said while I was doing the hologrind... "It'll all be worth it just to have a lightsaber.. I don'tcarehow far upI go..."Once you get there, you will care, yes, you will... Always more than what you have do you want. Grinding with a lightsaber is just as boring when you're constantly watching your back for the dreaded gank squad... er BH with combat medic support...
