One thing I'm not quite understanding, if there are only certain branches that can be unlocked in each phase, ranged accuracy in phase 1 for example, why then, when you ask Nolden what you can learn next, are all the branches in combat listed?

The availability of these options in the radial menu is just a sign that the whole process was not thought through sufficiently.

The Devs have hurried this mess through, and not thought through the PC/NPC interaction at all. There should be barriers preventing you from converting your XP or taking a quest before you unlock your free branches, and much more warning about which branches are unlocked by each mission. I bet there are going to be tons of people, like me, who didn't read this guide and are now just grinding through whatever they can to get to Jedi.

I thought this whole process was meant to stop the grind, and make advancement to Jedi more "quest-based"? LOL!!

Ok, just making sure I have this right. Since I diddn't hologrind at all, it will take me atleast 18 weeks to become initiate, because a player can only do one quest to unlock a branch every three weeks? Do I have this right, or have I misunderstood something?

Thanks.

Why would SOE care about the PC/NPC interaction? They walk a thin, very very thin line of keeping the players content and stringing them along for the longest possible time for the money. Think about it, and please, by all means correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I love how the devs wanted to stop profession grinding. Ok, so now we're all just xp grinding, which isnt much differant than prof grinding. Hm, funny. Personally, I'm gone the DAY MxO comes out. I've waited over a year for a Jedi, and everytime I thought I'd get it, they raised the bar. So there I was looking forward to quests. Yes, QUESTS. Not ONE lousy quest per 3 weeks. That's ridiculous. I'm not going to spend another quarter of a year trying to attain the Jedi which I've been trying to get for the past year. What happened to "casual gamer" being able to get jedi? I'm sorry, but grinding a million xp isnt for casual gamers. Its yet another system that plays into the hands of the PowerGamers. I had one stupid free unlock. All I can say is JTL better be 100% absolutely kick***, with all the hype they've been placing on it. If it isnt that great, I can see this game getting shut down due to "lack of players". I personally know at least 25 people that quit on my server alone, and another 10 on another server I've played on. That was just from some of the BS. There is more to come undoubtedly.

Great Guide man, keep up the good work. SOE should hire you to help out their inconsistancies and irresponsibilities.

I don't get it.. every time something in this game changes, people start to complaining! I mean.. when people figured out to grind profession, people were complaining how long it takes to unlock. Then the Devs changed the system to an more acurate system and now when it is life, people are complaining how long it takes to grind xps to become a jedi.

Why don't you just enjoy the game?? Why don't you just enjoy the fact, that you are now able to even get close being a jedi and still can play the game you like?

You know.. grinding xps is exactly what I like on the new system.. I wanna do crafting skills for jedi? I go for artisan again and craft.. I wanna have fighting skills with my jedi?? Well, I go out and use my TKA skills and kill enraged rancors.

You don't like the new jedi system? Then why don't you stick with your beloved profession instead complaining all the time about this and that?? *shakes head*

I play that game from the very begining and I loved it from the first time on. I still love it. If I'm tired of fighting, then I chat with some friends or stick within a medical center and heal people (or do that in the village).

People.. the SWG universe is soooo huge.. there are so many things to discover.. Stop complaining and start enjoying the game.. you won't earn real money for playing hour after hour. You only play that long for your personal amusement!! Nothing else.. Keep that in mind and I'm sure you will find the good sides in this game again.

Sure.. some things are a bit messed up. But complaining about it won't help you there.

may the force be with you all
cheers

Could you clarify something for me please.

I had 4 free unlocks and unlocked the following trees and trained them.

Village Phase 3: Combat Prowess: Melee Accuracy

Village Phase 3: Enhanced Reflexes: Ranged Defense

Village Phase 4: Combat Prowess: Ranged Speed

Village Phase 4: Enhanced Reflexes: Melee Defense

Now I read on another forum post that you ONLY needed 24 boxes filled so this would work:

2/2/2/2

2/2/2/2

2/2/2/2

Is this wrong?

YES!! This is WRONG!! You absolutely MUST get six FULL branches.

There is no shortcutting the XP requirements by only doing the lower level boxes, sorry,

morkill wrote:

And also I have the first box ofPhase 1: Combat Prowess: Ranged Accuracy trained.

DO I need to finish this tree before the Village shifts to the next phase or can I take my time to finish it?

Take your time.

What is the time between phases?

Three weeks.

Ie i took patrol from cpt sag....but didnt realise it was ranged acc at that phase. Now as a TKA i dont need or use it...booger help!

This is just my personal opinion, but I don't care what I unlock really. The melee defence, speed and accuracy are allI am concerned with, after that, I just want to unlockas fast as I can.

This Guide is a culmination of experience, advice fromfriends who spent time on TC, and more than a few hours reading everything I could find from various forums.

Once it's done I will add a 'thanks' section.

You are correct.... technically, if you grind super fast, you can have the majority of the experience ready in time for the final cycle, and do it in 15 weeks, or thereabouts.

Just as an aside, I will be adding data relating to grind time for combat professions shortly, and some other info on the Padawan Trials.
