Yes it sounds right, you get more xp the more skill points you spendin jedi.

Also make certain you are grouped with your pet or droid...that will add to your xps. Try to get entertainer inspiration buff as well to maximize your grinding session. Good hunting!

I CL 75 and get about 981 exp for lvl 80 stuff
also i think someone the extra 10% exp for stuff over your level is not working as i got the same amount of exp for lvl 82 and 81 npcs

Some of it is dependant on WHAT you hunt. If it's social there's supposed to be a bonus. If it's aggro, there's supposed to be a different bonus.
Beyond that (and the afrementioned Inspiration Buff), xp per kill is only based on two things, your level and your level relative to your mob.

Every box you gain raises your "difficulty level" behind the scenes. This stat as it gets higher raises the max amount of exp you can gain from any given creature. Therefore, each box you get raises that cap amount of exp you can get. So even if you're level 1 and fighting rancors, you can only get 700xp. Eventually, they'll give 1100. (the highest jedi exp i've ever gotten was 1181, and that was on blood frenzy boar wolves on endor pre-CU)
