I guess the fact that they nerfed the medical xp slipped their mind too. I just went to the village and medical xp conversion rate is 30:1 now.

Can they break things anymore. If grenades were being such an issue, why not create grenade xp instead of punishing everyone else who grinds the xp the normal way. I didn't even see this nerf in the notes of the publish so at the moment I am treating it as a bug and will continue to treat it as such.

check the patch notes on the forum . . .they added the XP conversion change to them. Can't call it a bug anymore . . . unless you're a medic . . . no mention of medical XP ratio change.

I think all of this is hilarious to be honest. Im relatively new to the game and I am still four unlocks away from Padawan trials, though I still don't think this is a bad idea. If you think about it, it takes three weeks for the phases to switch over anyway. In most cases, players will have all their FS xp grinded out before their second unlock. This will just give players something to do while they wait for the phases to change over.

I just think its funny because SOE keeps going back and forth with every patch. Its like they can never make up their mind, do they want to nerf something, or do they not want to nerf it.Similar to spoiling a child, you feed them everything they want and then when you realized you spoiled them and take it away, they start whining all the time wondering where the golden spoon went. I have played many MMO in my time but never have I seen a dev team that is quite as lazy as SWG's dev team. When they make a decision they need to stick to it, and if they don't stick to andit goes south then they should get off their lazy asses and add more content to the game rather than reversing their own decisions. Seems like all they do is reverse code around with every patch. Its no wonder their customers are so upset with all the nerfing that goes on in the game.Customers don't liketo pay so that they can become Beta testers in anotheronline world. You would think they would have seen all of this coming.

If SOE would only spend as much time on content as they do nerfing the game, it may actually be more enjoyable for everyone. I have said it once, and I will say it again. Patches should bring content, not nerfs.

I agree 100%, especially about the devs being lazy part. COME ON, WHAT ABOUT US THAT HAVE A LIFE? SHOULD WE THROW IT AWAY FOR THREE MORE YEARS (AT MOST) OF AN ONLINE GAME?

why don't they just make grenades heavy weapon xp? That would fix the grenade problem without making all of us normal grinders have to suffer from the conversion rate change.

I am pretty certain that was not the intention. It seems more like that they have decided to put a drag on FS progression. If 'nade grinding were really a problem in their eyes they could have adressed it much better without much complication (hvy weapon xp, etc). They could have made this same change 6 months ago when people were doing it.

I truly believe they would have made a different change, openly anounced it and its reason and done it far earlier, if grenade grinding were the sole issue. Lengthening the grind is what has been accomplished, falls right in line with dev philosophy and is the type of change you don't announce or attempt to justify because the people it effects are numerous and will hate it.

Don't call it a bug or an exploit fix. This the devs making an unpopular move behind the smokescreen of another issue. The FS grind is not holding people in it long enough for there tastes and now that people are well into it and have accepted the CU, they are going to string out the players they have hooked for some extra subscription time and try to close the gate on the Jedi corral after there are already far too many that have escaped.

I don't usually post, but thought i'd chime in.

If they had announced this in public, the hue and cry, above what is transpiring now, would have been deafening. We all know this. This is their way of getting around it, by just not saying anything about it, which totally goes against any kind of mantra regarding customer service and support and community feedback that exists in their little handbook for the recently nerfed they carry around, but don't bother reading, obviously. I don't understand them being so underhanded in this. It's bizarre, especially after all the feedback we've been getting from them lately, with them posting on the boards and actuallly being present.

This is akin to the 1/8th Group Xp nerf that they did release patch notes on and had to nuke due to the uproar they caused trying to scale back advancment and keep people paying their $15 a month. If you couple the 1/8th group xp nerf in with the FS xp nerf, how is anyone going to cap anything in a reasonable amount of time? They won't. Which is the point, i think. A grind, is a grind, is a grind. And i hate that aspect of this game. It shouldn't be like that, not matter what your goals are, Jedi or otherwise.

They are so worried about game dynamics and people getting around the static aspects of things they've set in place, they take a sledgehammer to the code and logic engine they've built and added onto the last 3 years. It makes no sense to me. This game is fluid and alive, but needs structure. If you keep changing the structure and not listening to the people who make the game live, i.e., the players, what do you have? You have a hollow shell that's going to collapse in on itself.

And it has started to collapse in on itself, seen through the drought of cancellations that have occurred since April when the CU went live.

I was one of the Commando, grenade people for the last part of January and early part of February. I knew what was coming and just wanted it over with before the CU totally made thingsobsolete. So sue me. I played from August, when the Village went to live, to January, dreading playing because it was taking so long. I got sickly tired of it. So, i know the frustration almost a year later, of unlocking branches and mindlessly capping xp to fill up the combat and reflex trees. Now the combat xp will be an afterthought, You'll never want to cap it. What you get, you'll get when you turn in your rifle, pistol, unarmed, bh, scout, medical and whatever xp you get.

I have a friend who is still trying to unlock and started a couple of months after i did and is no where near finished because he's a casual game. This will totally kill him every filling up his branches, which are totally useless, by the way. They add nothing to your character. The skills don't work and are as broken as BE enhanced clothing.

So that leaves you taking three times as long to fill up skill branches that don't work and don't add anything to a profession that is growing weaker by the nerf and takes 3 times as long to fill up as regular prof. What's the point?

<Iam not sure which annoys me more, the change or complete lack of official word on it. This is a major change that will effect a large portion of the player base and it seems like they are trying to slip it in without a word or warning.I pushed hard this week and have only 5 blocks left so if it is not in tomorrow's patch, I should be free and clear. I disagree with the change since it would be adressing the grenade exploit in the least effective way and seriously hamper anyone grinding the "right" way. >
