Well I decided to try using grenades for the first time and I can't seem to kill squat. I use C12 grenades with approx 700-800 max damage against Hurton Stalkers. I stand in the liar and start chucking my grenades. Last night I went through close to 100 grenades and the liar wasn't even half damaged. I could use my Pistoleer and get just as much Combat XP per houras using grenades. Doesn't seem to be faster for me. Am I doing something wrong? I was in a solo group and the liar level was 99. Now I also don't plan to go up the Commando tree so going with higher quality grenades is not an issue.

As I play only three times a week, three hours per day (one buff session) I wanted to get a little more combat XP before the CU. Once the CU hits I will be not using nades anymore. Any tips?

c12 grenaides are pointless if u have time lrean commando 3000 or 4000 and use imp det. or thermal det and the lairs will get kill so fast like 5 min to kill every thing and u should do gaint baz nich lairs on dath they dont hit has hard and theres more i think any way but gl

I supported the old system, but it didn't help. I now support working with the devs to try and make the new game something we'll enjoy.

c12 + max dam PU will get you nade with 1000(1100) or so damage. take out 5 of them from crate and PU them

then go to endor, pick crazied gurreck mission, get to lair. try to get it down to 25%-30% with your main weaponasap (but DONT KILL it yet) that should get you 5 gurrecks on you. after that TARGET lair and start tossing nades into it ( not on gurrecks). then keep eye out for spawn of gurreks near ya. if new one spawn attack it with main weapon (like dot or something) so that i start to fight you. then target lair again (make sure that you are attacking it) and start tossin nades again.

4-5 C12 will dothework. After you used them, use main weapon to finishwhat are left of them and kill lair (or try to tap it again but for me it despawns way to often) and move on.When teamed one crazzied gurrek should be worth close to 4k combat xp.

If in high lv solo group you can get up to 15 gurreks in each lair (but can be a bit hard to roll that mission coz it is only 6k reward)

If doing with only some pet or droid you might get only 9 gurreks in each lair.

if you do it right you should make about 300K combat xp from 50 C12 nades, if you are fast that can be done under 1 hour.

or you can train in commando skills and buy higher damage nades and kill mobs with better xp rewards ( giant Bazz, Kahmurith snappers, Hurtons etc) as best you can get about 5.5k combat xp for each.

trick with nades are to stay near/on/in lair and toss nades on it. that way you will auto hit and damage your targets around you.

It's faster to grind regular profession xp than to use c12's,they are so slow and do so little damage, there is no time savings.

If you aren't going to use imp detonators, don't waste time and money on the greande thing.

I just wanted to comment on this...

I have gone through about 50 crates C12's over the last week and I believe I can shed some light on this. EarlierI posted asking for some advicewhat I should fight when Nading with C12's and someone said Huurton Stalkers.Ihad beennading 11.3k - 12k Giant Biz Natch Missions on Dath and getting Cap Combat in a Buff Session (Well, Truthfully - 270k or so combat by the time I ran out and did an Xp Dump at the ville).

Anyways - Tried the Stalkers for two buff sessions and they sucked. They seemed to hit me waay harder - So I had BF / Armor Shredding issues well before I had any problems with Giant Biz Natches. The next time I went back out to the good ol' Giant Biz Natches and bingo .. Capped again.

I used to just capRifle 900k and get the 90k Combat and go turn that in in about two hours and get started again... but now - I get buffs / Head to Dath (already in a solo group) / Get the Giant Biz Natch Missions - And go...

The other day I learned 0/0/0/4 In TK so I dont get hit when nading,... that solved the BF / Armor Shredding issue.

In a Buff session the last couple times I capped at 300k Combat and have about 200-300k in Rifle per buff session for mob clean up and any general mobs hanging out that I blast... That's about 110k A run.

God knows it would be muuuuuuch faster going 4/0/0/0 commando (and I still might) but I have like 130 more crates of these C-12's to burn and I only have 10 boxes left to go.... if I do two Buff sessions a night its 220k FS and I am good with that for now...Thats a 4 box in two to three nights...

Anyways... Nading takes a little practice to get right... I never nade the lair with C12's... I just scratch the lair bare handed,... get 5 Naz on me... Run 40 away from the nest... Take those 5 out...

Get my main rifle out... Keep attacking the lair(no specials)til I have another 5 on me and take those 5 out. You can only have 5 on you at a time so... Once I have killed 10 at the lair I just clean it up with my rifle... I could kill two sets.. Go to the other mission and kill two sets and come back but I don't bother...

As long as I am getting over 100k FS a day I am pretty much happy. I can imagine myself getting 4/0/0/0 commando the last week of April ifI am running low on time! The way I see it I'll just have 1 to the 1 and 1/2 trees left by then....

Hope this helps...

People who say C12's are worthless just don't know how to handle them. What's that? You can't blow up a whole spawn in a few hits? Who cares.I grinded all 7+ million FS XP with C12's. Hunt 5300 quenker missions in dantooine. You only need two stacks to kill one wave. Sure you only get 2500 xp from each of them but they die quickly and it seems like you're getting some real XP faster. Anyways kill two waves, then quickly go to the next missions, kill two waves rinse/repeat. I could cap two times comfortably with C12's, just have to know how to use them.

Edit: Oh, and damage pup's aren't an option, they are a must

Krebain,

I must be doing something wrong then. What damage did your c12's do?

You probably aren't doing anything wrong, but you have to realize that the C12 is weaker and without Commando 4/0/0/0, you are throwing slower.

I have tried all methods. I used to grind out TKM and M Swords to cap. I used to use C12's, and they were exactly as you describe them...slow and very boring.

Then, one day, I read about the CU, and EQ2 style Power-Leveling..and I realized that I needed to get myself in gear and finish this grind. As posted previously, I dropped all of Medic except for the Novice box, and all of merchant, all of TKM, and grinded out Master Marksman and Commando 4/0/0/0 in just under 2 buffs.

I have a WS friend who made me all the Thermals and Imp Dets I can handle, and 33% PuPs (used great resources..another favor). I chew though lairs so fast and cap Combat XP and convert almost 4 times per buff...so 300-400 FS XP per buff when I try, and a minimum of 125 FS XP when I am lazy.

I view the CU as an end...a brick wall...and I have done all I can to get in under it. I have focused my template and toon on finishing this, and I have made sacrifices that have been well worth it.

My advice: GET IN A SOLO GROUP FIRST. Then, cruise to Lok and hunt wild Gurk lairs. You will find one in about 20 seconds. I have pulled 200k of Combat XP out of ONE lair on occasion...that is the truth, and others will confirm that. They spawn and spawn and spawn sometimes. Once you get to around 220-240K Combat XP, cruise to Dath and grab 2 GBN missions in the SE direction, any distance and head to the first lair. Hit the first wave and head to the second lair. Hit the first wave of the second lair and check Combat XP. If I am getting close to the 300k cap, I leave the 2 mission lairs and head to the village, and smoke a few randoms on the way, which caps me.

Get to the village, convert, and head back to the closest lair. The second wave of GBN will be waiting. Kill wave 2 and then, I tap the lair below 30% with my PH. This can spawn a few more GBN. I nade this too, then wipe the lair. Head to the first lair now and finish the same way. Then, head to the Science Outpost, grab 2 more GBN's or head to Lok...rinse and repeat.

I don't think you would be as effective without some Thermals or Imp Dets, and Commando 4/0/0/0, but do what you can, and you'll get it.

I use C12s with max dmg of 852 to 870 and 2.8 speed and can max combat xp in 1hr 30 min to 2hrs. It takes me about 1 crate per lair and3 lairs per xp max (100 combat xp per lair).

This is how I do it: 1. I get 2 GBN lairs of 99 difficulty in the same direction as close to each other as possible. 2. Take out the first wave of about 10 then move to the next lair and take out the first wave at that lair. 3. Go back to the 1st lair and repeat. 4. After 2 waves per lair, destroy the lairs and go get 2 more lairs. 5. Do the firstwave oneach lair and combat xp should be close to max. 5 Finish the last wave on each lair with my Gaffy Stick. 6. Turn in at the village 7. Go get 2 more lairs and get the first wave on those lairs and run like hell because my buff has run out.

This method gets me about 400k combat(@130 fs)xp per buff.

Yes the grenades are expensive so I take some time to harvest resourses and sell them and hunt whatever is in season and sell it for credits. All for the sole purpose of keeping me stocked with nades/armor/buffs.

Hope this helps.

QFE

i'm using thermals myself and can kill a full spawn in like 3-4 nades. it's just not worth using 2 full toolbars worth ofc12s just to kill 1spawn of critters.

How about instead of banking XP and turning it in just use that to grind up to commando 4xxx? You can always just sell the crates of c12s. I'd just slap them up on the Bizzaare for like 20K a pop. Trust me someone will buy them.

At 85k a crate - How many crates would I need to finish up my 10 boxes? Any idea?
