Does the shuttling thing work? Is there another way? I want to do my village missions before the end of this phase.

people will tell you all kinds of things on how to get the old man to come, but i will tell you this:
THEY ARE ALL BOLLOX!!
all this shuttling and crap, none of it speeds things up, just be patient and wait, go about your normal business and he will come. the only thing that you need to be careful of is that he "supposedly" doesnt go to npc cities such as coronet or theed. i dont know if this one is true, but i suspect it is cuz i have never heard of anyone getting visited in one (but thats probably cuz everyone is avoiding them like the plague once they get glowy)

If you can't wait 3-4 days for the old man to come, how are you ever going to have the patience to make it through this grind. Play the game. Do some hunting. Flirt with a dancer in the cantina. Enjoy the game. Then when he comes, which....he will, I recommend you do the following: Play the game, do some hunting, flirt with a dancer in the cantina, and by all means enjoy the game. This grind is a time vampire, and it will suck out all your enjoyment of the game in the process.... if you allow.

I have yet to really begin the quest to become FS. But one thing is, I have seen an NPC called "The old man" or something of the sort in multiple player cities. I have seen him on Dant as well as Cor. And I wish I was ready to be FS but sadly, I am not, and he wasnt there for me.

Took me two days... But I realized that waiting for him is only the beginning... As stated above, be patient, and try to enjoy the game. Putter around, he will appear. At first I thought he was another player, after he finished talking, he runs off and vanishes.
You still have these things to look forward to waiting for:
your sith pirate attack (had to wait 2 days for this too)
6 Village phases (at 3 weeks each thats 4.5 months)
Final vist from old man & Exit quest
Jedi Padawan trials
If you are stressing aver your old man visist, you will be a wreck by the time you finish your trials.

The only reason for my impatience is to catch this phase before it changes. And I am a Jedi, this is for a friend. Was just wondering if there was anything that worked to make him come faster....btw he came, and now friend is waiting for Sith.
