Yes, it is the same as combat XP when you heal someone. Let's say you're fighting CL82 bols in a group that is considered CL80. Let's say you get 5k weapon XP and 500+ combat XP. If my group were to stand right next to the base and attack from there while I spammed bacta spray, I would get 5k medical XP, required I don't attack anything, which is what I usually do.
So yeah, I get my XP that way, but try grinding a whole senses tree just getting that?! And me, who has 3 trees unlocked and 1 1/2 grinded out? It's ruff man, very ruff. Do the math:
In order to get the novice box, you'll need to cap your medical XP (required you have master doctor and 4440 medic, since i dont know if XP cap changes with less medic trees) just over 1 time to get novice. That's not too bad, but let's move on to the actual bonus boxes...
To get the first box in any of the senses trees, you'll need to cap 4 times!
For any second box, you need to cap over6 times!
For any third box, you need to cap almost 9 times!
For any fourth box, you need to cap 11 TIMES!
So let's total that all up...1 + 4 + 6 + 9 + 11 = 31...multiply that by 1.2 million...
37.2 million medical XP to get one tree of senses!?
148.8 million medical XP for the whole senses "profession"?!
Cmon devs, this is getting rediculous...

I opposed the change to combat xp because its too wide a net to cast to fix grenades, but I agree with the change to medical. The CU changed the way you get medical xp so that it is exactly the same way you get combat xp. Its only right that the ratio was changed to be the same as combat. The essential problem with both combat (using grenades) and medical xp is that you could get 100k of FS xp in less than 2 hours. Thats an insane rate and espeically on those occasions where they set up double xp which make it take 30 minutes to get 200k of FS xp using one of these methods.

It is just another way that they are slowing down the rate of new Jedi.

Question is why now? should have been dealt with before this measure needed to be taken.

It will help, it would have helped alot more if they would've done it sooner. I like that all the conversation ratios have been made larger.

I think part of the answer to "why now" is that they have a developer looking at the code on the Village stuff. We heard from a developer that they are trying to make fixes to the village quest system as the phases come up. This means someone is actively looking at stuff they haven't looked at in a while.

Doc you're partially right. But think about it...
What do you get from killing a creature? 2 different XPs. 5k of weapon XP and 500+ combat XP. When you change that in, you get 183 FS combat/reflexes. (considering the new 30:1 combat conversion)
Now let's say I heal someone who kills a creature. I get 5k medical XP. When I change that in, I get 166 FS senses XP.
Now 17 XP may not seem like much, but that's 17 XP per every 5k that I loose. Now, let's get mathematical...
5k goes in to 1.2 mil 240 times.
240 times 17= 4080 XP I loose per cap.
Previous math in this thread said that I need 31 caps per tree, including novice box. For arguement's sake, let's take away the novice box, which makes it 30 caps for a senses tree.
30 times 4080 = 122k!
If you dont want to follow that math, which was hard enough for me to do, just look at that last number! Because I only get 1 type of XP and combat toons get 2, I get 122k less FS XP then you guys do! And that adds up!

I realize that and you are right of course but if you put it back to 10:1 you end up getting 120k of FX xp for every 1.2 Million Medical. You only get 44k for a Weapon right now for killing the exact same creatures. If you made the rate 25:1 you would be at about 48k per trip which would be more fair I agree. My point was that 10:1 was too high because it was based on Pre CU medical xp gain not post CU xp gain. All xp gain got easier post CU but medical because insanely easier because it comes soo much faster and isn't tied to the amount of damage you heal just the number of creatures you are in combat while you do it.

I propose the developers make all XP conversion equal. That way everyone gets screwed.
