Thread: Weapons exp is faster than grinding Combat exp... read!

It used to be... Pre-CU that grinding with grenades made you more FS xp faster... but now...


It takes me roughly 30-40 mins to grind out 3.6mill weapons xp, which INCLUDES my 300k combat... and that means I get 2x as much xp... I don't understand why you would try to grind combat exp when you can grind weapons at the SAME time, and probably FASTER than you could grind combat!!!

Hu? im not getting waht you want us to do, grind wiht nades agin ?. and lol how the hek do you get that much xp so fast? lol i can barley get 1.5 mil a hour.

You have to group. I have the advantage of being in a guild with a lot of jedi. They attack the lair and tank, you do an area attack, you rake in the xp.

And I think what the original poster is trying to say is that by the time you reach the exp. cap for all the weapons you can use, you should have also capped combat exp., instead of having to use grenades to cap combat exp. seperately. This seems to hold true for me, and I'm not a straight combat player. I'm Master Dancer, Master Brawler and TKM, and by the time I reach the caps for all the weapons I can use (1.2 mil for unarmed, 200k for 1h, 2h, polearms, pistols, carbines, and rifles), I am either capped or very close to capping combat exp.

3.6 million in 40 minutes = 1 kill per 4 seconds (avg 6k per kill) with no down time. That's one heck of a group.

I will agree that why just worry about capping combat xp when you can capp all you xp at the same time.


My template:


Master Rifleman


Creature Handler 2323


Scout 4040


Medic 0400


Marksman 4004


Soon to be Combat Medic 0000


My Point:


By the time I capp all those areas with xp the combat xp comes with it so why worry about capping just combat when you can go to the village and convert more xp in different areas



I do have a BIG problem with the 30-40 min 3.6 mil xp cap. IMHO that is just not possible.

Clearly he was exagerating.


Anyway, as a master BH master carbineer I can cap 900k pistols 900k rifles, 1.2mil carbines, 680k combat.


With the weapons xp I stop at 300k combat. From that point, if my group is willing to permit me to do it, Ill grenade grind. Run to a lair, throw a grenade (get them all in one hit), and let the group destroy'em. Easy combat xp. I typically will go back to the village with all those fields capped, and that is something like 320k FS xp in a trip. Not bad really.


Grenade grinding is something you do with a willing group only though.

weapons xp converts 40:1


combat xp converts 3:1



so if u have..what did he say 3.6 mil? divide that by 40. that equals only 30k of FS xp


if you have 300k combat xp divide that by 3. that equals 100k of FS xp


and with grenades and a non-newbie group, you can get 100k of combat xp per nest..very easily

by the way two combat profs = 2.4 mil xp cap..where did he get 3.6 from?


ps - the reason i said non-newbie group is because most people who have been playing for a few months know what grenades do, and dont mind if you use them. its always the newbies who cry about stuff, because they call it "stupid". well if getting 10 times the normal amount of xp is stupid..then im 100% retarded and i should be imprisoned in a rubber cell because i will never stop.

Unless it has changed, weapons converts at 30:1.


I just figured it up I can grind out to cap 9 different typs of Regular xp to take back to the villaige to convert.

Or...become a commando or squad leader and have a 900k combat cap. Then, instead of your area attack, throw one (yes, 1) C12 while the Jedi kill stuff. Instead of getting all that in weapons xp, you'll get it in combat now. No matter how fast you're doing weapons xp, having a group help you grenade is always 9x faster. (10x trade in for combat xp-the 10% combat xp bonus for earning weapons xp.)

(Squad leader is ideal here, because after you grenade you can use your SL abilities to help the group without actually hitting the creatures and endangering your xp.

Same temp as me except that i had commando 4-0-0-0. I dropped it though because I could never stay in a consistant group and the aggro from the grenades kept pissing everyone off. But I make enough with just my 3 weapon lines. So I dropped that and went CM for the heals instead.

And to the guy who said he capped at 30-40 mins, I call BS. During the double xp week, I couldn't cap all three weapons lines in that time and I was hitting up the Bol missions hard.
