Hi, I'm A master TK, master swordman, and master fencer.... i know that this is not th strongest template...but i like it...anyway i have defeated jedi with what i have in completely fair fights....i have never beaten a full temp...but i one came within one hit (about 200 hp)...so, i was wondering if it is eve worth it to spend sooo much time becoming a jedi because of how (nowadays) a person like me can defeat a jedi who has spent alot more time than me grinding....i realize that jedi is cool, but it seems to me that the other proffs are better choices because they are better contributers tothe community that jedi (they need armour, weapons, etc), they are nearly as good as jedi because on nerfs, and they are proffessions that are much easier to reach

with a good temp and LS jedi can be better than all normal people. i dont know how you did it w/o healing (ya stims but thats once every what 30-60 seconds?). jedi are better in pve easily, there is gonna be the frs turned on. i say ya it is. plus another character slot

Just work on unlocking your branches, trade in your xp for FS xp and don't worry about it for now. You can unlock all your trees and bank all the xp you will need before putting a single SP in a FS box. Then you can decide at a later time if you feel like being a jedi. Do it at your own pace while enjoying your temp if you're in no rush or not excited about jedi now. No need to decide now, but it wouldn't hurt to prepare. You have 4 months minnimum (while you work toward jedi) to decide if you feel like being a jedi.

good points...anyway i useally use 1 to 3 stims and ruby biel to defeat jedi.. i guess i'll continue working towards jedi, but, ironically, jedi today seems very un-star-warsy to me

thanks for lisening to me

CoB is fairly useless when fighting jedi.
A higher defense mainly just makes them hit closer to their minimum damage, which for jedi is very close to their maximum.

I've beaten alot of full temp jedi with a similar template and not even had to heal. If you know your weapons and food stims just get redundant.

is it worth it to even play this game. theres absolutely nothing left once you finish your jedi anyway. it's so damn boring.. the whole entire mess of a game.

I don't think it is really. I've got four Jedi branches and mostly been thinking of dropping them so I can get back the SP for something more fun. Just a fancy combat skill mostly. Extra toon comes in really handy though.

to define 'worth it' i'd have to assume you are comparing time invested to what ever your priority is.

if your priority is pvp then i'd say no...you can grind out any double combat mastery beside bh (and that's only because of the investigation line)in any 2 combat profs in about 3 days of grinding...jedi takes longer...alot longer.

if your priority is being a jedi because you're a fan...well that value is not measurable...people have paid thousands for jedi on ebay so you'll have to decide if it's 'worth it' to you

if your priority is socialization...besides grinding groups you won't have much time to be innefficient and socialize...unless you want to chat while you afk grind on the trails or unless you want to take a year or so to complete your temp.

if your priority is dueling, then maybe...but that's a hell of alot of work to become a 1 vs 1 pvper...dueling means little to me personally...team pvping is what i like to do.

if i was starting the game now, or if i had to start over, i'd never grind a jedi out...i just mastered bh and rifle in a weekend (minus the investigation line) and that toon is plenty strong enough for me in pvp...i'd have a regular fotm pvp toon and maybe take the time to grind out a crafter alt so i could buy the best ca's aa's food, stims, and other equipment to make me uber in pvp.

We can't tell you if it is worth it to be a Jedi, only you can answer that. Jedi are not the most powerful profession in the game. If you are thinking of doing the grind because they are, then you will be very disappointed after the year or so it takes to grind one. There is nothing wrong with having fun with your current template. I chose to be a Jedi for role playing purposes. I do not expect to be all powerful. I am not going to be one of those Jedi that walks around with title over head or juggling lightsabers in town. Ask yourself why you want to be a Jedi and then go from there.

sure a full temp jedi is a very strong charcter BUT two things preven them from being all mighty (other that the devs)

1) in the time that it takes to grind jedi (afk or otherwise), a regular player can develope staragates such as use of food, clothes, weapons with cool effects, and special techniques and technique combos that are extremely devestaing while jedi are grinding AFK or mindlessly killng bols (for the most part)

2)THE FORCE BAR!!! that thing is a pain in the but and a jedi can't even swing a lightsaber without it

'Well technically a full temp padawan can *usually* easily beat any other duelist if they have near perfect pearls'

Near perfect pearls? Is that fixed yet? I have a few pearls but since the drops haven't been fixed I've heard they are worthless. Just knowing that one day I will get a lightsaber that will not be on par with pre-CU makes me upset. What if crafters could not make weapons as good as they were pre-CU? That would suck wouldn't it?

At any rate, for me, Star Wars was always about the Force. The Jedi that was the guardian of the galaxy. For me it is about accomplishing the title and roleplaying it. I want to be a good Jedi and play the part to perfection. As it is I am in groups with Jedi with names like 'Ubernoob', 'MichealJacksonwannabe', or 'sgtkickazz'. I will never understand how a person can dedicate the time to grind while logging in under a character of that name. My Jedi will roleplay and be true to the profession. It is too bad others have to make a bad example of the profession.
