Thread: Combat XP Converson increase is not a bad thing!!!
agree, far too many Jedis (and no I dont have one)
just remember the old days those of you wining, it would of taken you many many more months than it does now to get a Jedi so stop it with the moaning already

This doesn't make sense. I'm not a jedi so maybe I missed something...but how does a 30:1 trade for combat xp to fs xp have ANY impact, much less a direct impact as you said, on a current jedi who is "still lvling".
So what you're saying, is that to you the following statement is true:
Time Consuming = Hard
To be honest, that sounds a little silly to me, because that's the premise that SOE is using. From my point of view, I'd look at it like this:
Challenging = Fun, Content = Fun
Spending a ton of time to do something doesnt make it more challenging, or essentially harder. It doesnt fix the problem that there are too many jedi, all it really does is discourage a part of the player base.
SOE took the path of least resistance. To be honest, and I apologize if I'm wrong in advance, but it seems like y'all like it, because it's the ONLY solution that you have. Doesnt make it right, or even good....
I said it in a different thread. What about :
1. Look at the BH vs. Jedi Relationship. Make Jedi more challenging to play, make it more powerful at elite levels, but make it challenging to get to those levels. ( You know....deal DIRECTLY with the problem of having too many jedi's around. )
2. Add content. Make the village quest based, so instead of feeling like you need to go out and "grind" our boxes, you fill them via completing quests. Each one harder and more challenging. You know, add something to the game that's fun for players, as opposed to killing bol's.
3. Consider adding another Alpha profession.
There are plenty of other solutions to the issue of too many jedi, SOE just took the path of least resistance, and for me at least, that's why I'm disapointed.
I agree with the premise that more quests and other content based progressions in Jedi would be the best for players. But I am going to play devils advocate. The problem with quests is that once a person does it, then everyone knows how to beat it. I use the Kash, quests for example. I used a guildie who had already accomplished the quest to help me on them. I beat them in no time. Now I do realize that the kash quests are not difficult per say. But they are fun. What the devs would have to do is make the quests changing. So variables change in the mission each time one does it. This is the only way that the quests would keep their integrity and difficulty.
Anyways I am for this change. Although grinding would still be apart of the game a mixture of the two ways would be awsome and far better the longevity of the game.
