i was jst thinking how much this might effect some fans. not only is this gonna be the most dramatic/emotional SW ever, but it's also the LAST SW ever. Think about it. no more SW movies. none. how sad is that? I know someone may post a future EP7 or EP8 but you're kidding yourself. the truth is George Lucas only ever wrote EP4. and back in 1977 it was only called STAR WARS.. no EP$ no A NEW HOPE. just star wars. when he RE-released it in 1978 he sleaned it up. because of the fact that very first scene with Darth Vader, you can see George himself and the camera crew reflected in his mask. This is when he also gave the name Episode 4 A NEW HOPE. this is because he had decided with the success of Star Wars to make a sequal. and he went all out and called it Episode 4 not 1, knowing that someday he would come back to make the prequals. but he never wrote a prequal story line until 1994 when he started on EP1. this is way EP1 isnt that good of a movie. he rushed it. he was tired from doing the first thrre movies( even though it was 11 years since EP6's release) but he did release EP1 and EP2. these web pages you might find on EP7 or EP8...hello people. George himself has alwasy said only 6. these movies are onyl about Anakin Skywlaker and his son and daughter.THERE IS NO EP7 OR EP8!!! so yes ROTS is the last SW movie ever. so again i ask WHO IS GONNA CRY? i know i will

To be totally honest, I almost cried during the trailer. The fall into darkness, the broken lives left in Anakin's wake...I gotta go get a tissue.

I would laugh evil, i like Darth Vader more than Anakin. Darth Vader is my favourite Starwars character ever, then the Emperor too. But Vader tops!!! So no cry just evil laugh.

Ok this is gonna sound real sad and hokie but...

I don't think I will cry, but ya never know. For me this ends 28 years of anticipation. I can remember the day that I first saw A New Hope in the theater. I was just a little n00bler when it debuted. Not much higher than a fence post. We had a big day planned. First we were going to the zoo. Then hotdogs in the park and finishing up by going to see this movie that everyone was talking about. The day was anything but uneventfull.

At the zoo, I wanted to see the monkeys soooooo bad, cause ya know that to a little kid, monkeys were the best (and lets face it, even now they are pretty damn cool)! So we get in and I go tearing down to the monkey exhibit. About 4 feet from the brick wall, I trip and BAM! Face first into the brick wall. I wake up about 5 minutes later to a worried mother and a laughing father. My dad tells me to buck up and slaps a frozen steak he had gotten from some place in the zoo (I stole some lions dinner I'm afraid) over my eye to stop the swelling and the now major developing shiner. My mom proceeded to lecture me on why I shouldn't run where I shouldn't run (you know how moms are). So my day at the zoo is over as they keep me pretty penned up there.

Lunch was good that I remember but I was still a little wozzy from the faceplant into the brick wall. But I was pretty miffed as they never let me go back to the monky exhibit.

So we get to the theater and I wasn't really in the mood now because I didn't get to see JoJo the Chimp sling his poo all over the place. I huff and I puff and I pout. My mom is understanding but my dad was now the mad one as he was getting upset having to stand in line for this "Greatest Movie of All Time". To him it was just another movie. We finally get our tickets and get in. We buy our Cokes and our popcorn or whatever we had. We follow the throng to the theater and find some seats. Of course me being more than likely concussed and still walking around with a steak on my face, I was all over the place. Telling people about the brick wall and the steak that, by now, my dad had ripped from the snarling jaws of a hungry lion that was about to eat a defensless sealion. And then....

The lights went down... The Fox Fan Fare started... and then came those infamous words of text...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away....

The theme started and something magical happened....

My dad, my mom, the people sitting next to me all sat transfixed for the next 2 hours at one of the most unusual, exciting, amazing spectacles that they had scene. People cheered. People ooooo'd and awwwwe'd.It was incredible. People Oh No'd. The whole time I sat watching with one eye (as by this time, the steak had slid from my face as my hands were gripped whiteknucked to the arms of the chair) and I could think only one thing...

This is the greatest thing I have ever seen.

I have thought that about each film since and I still think it each time I watch the movies now, over and over again. Some of my best friends and the world have come from finding out they love these movies. So you ask, am I gonna cry?

Heck ya I probably will. Ain't afraid to admit it. But at the same time, I will remember being that 7 year old kid with a swollen shut black eye who watched slackjawed way back when. I will remember when after seeing Vaders deformed head and postualizing with my buddies how he got that way (and we all came to the same conclusion, that it as lava - howabout them apples if the trailer is any indication *wink). I will remember all the action figures, models, books, games and people that this has brought into my life. And when I think of all those things, I will be thankfull that George Lucas gave me something that he has given many people. The chance to always remember what it was and is like to be a little kid just having fun in a crazy world.

In a way, I agree with Bleu's post. I didn't come close to crying (because of the excitement) but I was sort of sad in the middle of it all. Can you imagine sitting there in the theatre and watching all the Jedi be killed? The evil rising and taking over? The once-thought invincible Jedi Master Yoda being beaten? One thought comes to mind that I can't wait to see, and that is the fight between Obi Wan and Anakin. That is the one fight where we all know the good side comes out on top, when all the others failed. Yes it saddens me that this could possibly be the last SW film ever. Will I cry? Who knows. I'm not a comic reader or investigator in SW, so I don't know what's going to happen in the whole movie (like most SW fanatics) but I just can't wait to see it.

I still say they should have done the Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, ..ect). Would have been much cooler. Talon karde, Mara Jade....and an entirely better story.

My earliest movie memory was of Return of the Jedi. I have always favored Luke above all other characters and seeing him win the day was always my favorite. I am a little sad about this movie though. As episodes I and II came out I really started to like the good Anakin and I hate seeing him fall, even though I know he will. Although I do love a good bad guy and let's face it, the Emperor is a bad man! I can't wait to see him take on Mace Windu...

to the guy who said i went all over the place with this post and asked if i was on drugs the answer is no. the reason i went all over the place and made this post isn't really because of the emotional transfactor EP3 is gonna have, it was more so to the fact the this is the last star wars more ever. and i mean ever. GL is NOT gonna give the rights to someone else nor is he gonna make an EP7. if anyone watched 60 miuntes last night GL himself said this is indeed the last SW ever. He will however be doing another Indiana Jones movie with Steven S. and then for some reason he is gonna make movie to where no one will wanna see. NOT SW. that is why i asked orginally who is gonna cry? i went all over the place as you said because people seem to think there will be another movie. there will not.

Wow Hawk

That sure brought back memories for me as well! Like you I remember the day we went to see Star wars for the first time. I was young but the day was anything but uneventfull. The theatre we went to was in luguna beach CA and had just been built with the latest and greatest sound system... Surround Sound! I think Goerge had a lot to do with this new technology in the theatres.
We had no idea what we were in for, but we heard it was the best movie ever. The theatre was packed, the lights finnaly went down and the opening storyline faded into space and then .... Wow! Lasers and ships, Stormtroopers and Darth Vader, the movies would never be the same again! I will never forget that day.
