As I have grinded towards becoming Jedi, I have run across a lot of people who, for one reason or another, don't get it.

I am tired of hearing people complain about how hard, or how easy it is to get Jedi. I am tired of hearing about how "this: or "That" in the game is unfair. I am tired of Jedi pretending that ONLY they are important in the game. (however this is a whole different thread)

I have played SWG since 2 days after its release. i have tried other games like WOW and Matrix OL. You know what keeps me coming back.... THE CONSTANT shift in this game. SWG is the best MOL game out because the developers have enough sense to make it interesting, change it up. How many of us have played Vid Games that after 3 months get old?? (WOW anyone?) SOE has done one HECK of a job at making this game interesting. Will they change how people get Jedi... YES EVENTUALLY! Should they HECK YES.... cause if they don't the game will get stagnant. Will I be irritated that it changed and I am not yet jedi? Yup... however after crying myself a river, I will don my armor, grab my pike and start the new process. The point of SWG is that it can never be beaten... nor should it. Change is good, and fun.... this is not a way of life people, its a game!

Those of you Uber gamers out there, congrats on getting Jedi. Those who grinded holocubes and then grinded Jedi.... congrats..... those of you who are grinding Jedi as you read this..... keep your heads up, keep on keeping on, and someday you will be the aforementioned... and to all of those out there that feel that SOE is unfair.... go grind lvl 60 on WOW.... us true players will be waiting for you when you return!

So what are we "not getting?" The fact you like all the changes, the fact we should feel blessed the devs keep implementing changes with bugs, or the fact you're tired of people complaining?

Im tired of people who have played the game for 3 months whining about this and that..... It;s too hard to grind jedi... they nerfed the XP ratio" Or Jedi's :its too easy to get jedi cause Im no longer UBER." I'll agree that the bugs need to be worked out, and Ill admit that some can be a pain in the A$$. And no I don't like ALL changes, but I deal with them... again, this is a game..... NOT a way of life.

ive been playing for only 3 months, ive managed to be comfortable with my all melee setup, the only gripe i have is that there are a lot of things that are broke even though they did work when i first started, if they fix the bugs in all the professions and leave the game the way it says its supposed to be like if an ability says it it does something and is just for that profession then it should do that. other then that the game is perfect imo.

The point is ....

Life is full of changes. Thank you for reminding people that they are not the only ones in the game. There are thousands and while their options are important , so are the rest of the people. but of course , someone has the run the show and that is the DEV team. The see the overall picture that you do not. They may not always be right but they are problbly right more often then you would be. They have a little more information to be working with.

I must say, I was suprised at the number of Jedi on the profession matrix.

I can see how they had to nerf granades in phase 4. heck, everyone doing granades could have capped FS in those 3 weeks alone. I am guessing the progaming to change granades to hvy weapons wouild have been too much and they had to do it fast concidering what was happening on the TC. LOL. I am sad, but it had to be done. Maybe latter they will program grandeds to hvy weapons , when there is time.

i think the path to jedi is easy, but the grind to jedi is hard, but only hard because i get bored and keep falling asleep while grinding. that being said the grind is still easy compared to what the grind was to master bounty hunter at release, or hologrindinga possible 32 professions to jedi. if you think the fs and jedi grind are bad you should have done master bounty hunter back then when there were no vehicles or mounts, when you had to wait 10 minutes for the next shuttle and when 75% if not more of the bounty hunter missions were bugged (unattackable marks or the mark just wasn't there). at release it took me about 6 months to master bounty hunter, after CU i started a new character and did it in a week if that. everything in this game now is 100x easier than it was at release so anybody complaining about anything in this game being hard, you are actually lucky, if you only knew what it used to be like.

after i get jedi i'm never going to have to do it again so why would changing it in the middle of what i'm doing to be crappier and changing it for the better later going to do for me? they change things but its not like they ever add new content or anything like that without selling it to us on an expansion. i understand what you're saying but i think the reason most people complain about the FS grind is because unlike alot of other professions to grind its not any fun. you're not getting worthwhile skills or any new abilties to keep you interested. it is mindless and un fun. i understand that jedi will take a much longer time to grind out and i am fine with that, i will probably even enjoy it very much. the FS grind is not something that i enjoy and not something the devs should have made characters focus on to this degree. the only people who don't complain about the FS grind are the people who didn't get the rug pulled out from under them during their grind. i just feel sorry for the people who started after me because it's going to take them six months to do it if they actually end up sticking with it. changes should not be made to alienate newer or returning players while keeping the power gamers with all the toys. honestly, most people would be happy to be padawans for a longer time, even if they were weak for a few months.

and you're right, grinding master BH was a pain in the ass when the game first came out. i know from experience. this isn't an excuse, this should be an example of why we should try to make any grind less of a pain in the @$$

the grind to fs is harder then the grind to full template jedi, as long as you continue to stay in groups and have the discipline not to get on the terms. the jedi grind is about 75% of the fs grind as of when they changed the combat xp to 30:1. but atleast at jedi you get new skills and powers and it makes you want to get better, the fs grind for me was 14 days of hell, about 10 hours a day, that was in july, i know that now it takes twice as long because of the combat xp change, and ive never used a grenade, a gun, or medic skills, just pure melee skills 3 for 1.2mil and then 300k combat xp per trip to the village was about 30 trips, now its about 50 trips for the new guys to make. i do think it should have been harder though, if they do change it i hope they put a series of things you have to do that are more fun, like more challenging themeparks would be awesome. anyway im ranting i hope everyone that wants a jedi treats the game right with their new character, also for the guy who posted this thread good luck and if you need some advice just holla.

The complainers know you are right but they don't care about anything except getting jedi so don't expect them to admit the truth. Something had to be done and SOE did it.
