Thread: Bugged Captain Sarguillo Situation Fixed by CSR

I finished off my last pirate, and sure enough my quest was bugged (ranged acc in Feb, melee def now). I got the "too much on your plate" message from Captain Sarguillo. I submitted a ticket along the following lines and was contacted by a CSR about 4 to6 hours later to get the matter resolved:

Issue: I'm Stuck->Performing an action

Description (wasn't exactly these words, but they were along these lines):

This ticket is due to a known problem with the phase 4 melee defense quest given by Captain Sarguillo in the force sensitive village of Aurilia. I accepted the mission, killed 50 outlaws, killed 50 pirates, and attempted to talk to Capt. Sarguillo; however, he is telling me I have too much on my plate and will not unlock the melee defense branch for me. I am unable to complete the quest, Paemos does not list melee defense as a skill I can train, and Noldan refuses to train me in melee defense even though I have the XP banked and waiting.

This happened to plenty of players during the last phase 4 and required CSR interaction to rectify. This is a known bug, so please refrain from providing canned "reboot", "reconnect", or "update your video driver" responses as none of these work. It requires direct interaction from a CSR.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience to award me the unlock.

Best regards,

-- G

That first line is crucial, by the way. This will keep the CSR from providing a "the clone armor quest should be fixed now" response or something stupid like that.

The CSR sent me a tell and once I docked at the Lok space station and landed, he immediately teleported me to the village (very slick... wish there was a teleporter quest reward somewhere). After a minute or so of waiting by the Captain, I received a system message telling me that I had unlocked.

While I had him on the line, I went ahead and told him the problem with kill credits during the quest. For those of you who don't know, the previous renditions of the phase 4 quest registered kills no matter who did the most damage. This meant that all you had to do was land a hit on the sith and you would get credit for the kill. As it stands right now, your group has to outdamage the other group(s) to get credit. This means pirates get taken down within seconds (since they're rare), and the village is overcrowded because it takes everyone longer to complete the quest. He said he would forward the information to the QA team.

There was a hotfix to take care of this "Captain Sarguillo is on crack" bug last time it happened. Unfortunately it didn't "stick", and the CSR apologized for the inconvenience. I believe he even said the devs are hot on it due to the number of tickets about the problem. Perhaps they'll even go so far as to drop a CSR next to Sarguillo to help bugged players. I know they did this in February during the last phase 4 bugfest.

So.... if you're bugged, submit a ticket, be polite about it, and be sure to thank your CSR once all is said and done (/kowtow CSR_JonW). Above all, remain PATIENT during the process. This was my final unlock, so believe me when I say I felt like flying off the handle. Nevertheless, getting upset or angry about it does nobody any good. It's a bug, and the situation can be fixed.Just take a deep breath, go on about your business (I got halfway through my space mining quests)and let everything get worked out.

Anyhow... good luck to everyone, and may the force (and a speed CSR response) be with you.

Oh you are lucky! I am hoping for the same luck when the server loads. I did stay in the village in case a CSR shows as well to help out.

I had this problem and a great CSR fixed it for me just now. Try to make sure you give as much detail as possible and please also send a /bug report in for other ppl because it needs a general dev fix.

For me it was definitely hours and not minutes. I finished the quest around 4 or 5PM, ate, went to help my brother-in-law with his computer, went to choir practice, came home, ate again, tucked the little one in, spent an hour or two on my space mining mission, and went outside for a smoke break. When I came back in, I had received some /tells from the CSR and promptly landed my ship to get everything fixed. All told, I would say it took a good six to seven hours for them to contact me. Your mileage may vary.

I have learned the following while waiting for a CSR to respond:

It rains in huts in the village.

The captain wanders about and won't talk inside of a building and he likes to hide in the column.

/still waiting sadly on Starsider

Ok so the csrs are going to unlock the tree for those who have completed the quest but did not receive there unlock because the captain stopped speaking to them.

What about the people who can't even start the quest to have proof they need a tree being unlocked?

If anyone has this fixed the people who has not been given the quest by csrs please post cause i am losing all hope now.
