Thread: After you unlock Jedi can you drop a tree and get a different one?

He's my dilemma. If I want to unlock my jedi and start padawan trials by phase 4 I have to get ranged accuracy and ranged speed. I already have ranged defence, melee defence and melee speed. I'm a TKM and and have no use for ranged accuracy and speed. Neither will jedi. But I don't want to wait an additional 2 phases to unlock vehicle control and survival which would be more useful. So if I go ahead and train in ranged accuracy and ranged speed just so I can unlock the jedi can I drop them once I'm a padawan and get vehicle control and survival instead? Thank you for your time and input. /hi5

I understand that part. I have ranged accuracy unlocked but did not train in it yet. I have ranged defence, melee defence and melee speed unlocked and fully trained to box 4 in each tree.

If you save up enough FS XP for a seventh tree & unlock you should be able to replace one of your current with another afterwards. You can't continue gaining FS XP post-unlock.

I didn't know you couldn't get FSXP after unlock. Guess I'll have to bank up FSXP for two more trees. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

You CAN gain FS xp after unlocking.

However, you can't do it with your lightsaber. Anything you kill with your lightsaber gives you Jedi xp.

You'll have to use your non-saber skills to kill stuff and get xp. Then you can convert that xp to FS xp just as always.

The only problem is when you have a nearly full template Jedi. Then you don't have the usual offensive skills to get the xp needed to convert to FS xp. Your saber will always give Jedi xp, which can't be converted to FS xp for who knows what reason.

The best bet is get your FS skill branches unlocked and filled up to level 4, then while you wait for the old man continue to do the FS xp grind fora full 2 branches worth of banked FS xp.

That way, when you get Jedi, you can go to the Village and unlock a skill you DO want, then train up that branch to level 4, and then drop a branch you don't want. You can never have less than 24 skill points devoted to FS skills while you're a Padawan. You can train more than 24 and drop back to 24, though.

So, true - your saber won't give you FS xp after you unlock, but you can certainly continue to get FS xp so long as you use a non-Jedi weapon to do it. The only problem is that death is very, very bad once you're a Jedi. Especially low level. So those Nightsisters that one-shot your Swoop and proceed to tear you apart will be a lot bigger threat once you're 4000m away from anyone who can rez you.

Aaawww what the hell. I'm just going to bank 20 million FSXP and unlock every branch! Then after that maybe I'll jump in front of moving traffic or perhaps slash my wrists in a feeding frenzy of great white sharks. Who said lobotomy? And no! You can't have my lithium!

  • Players that have skill boxes in one of these affected professions will be allowed a skill re-spec for their character. This does not include the force sensitive skills. (A re-spec is short for "respecify". It is the chance to choose new skills for your character).

Yes you can change your FS skills, but like they've said it would be best to have the FS XP stored. And I believe you can only add or drop FS skills prior to becoming a Padawan. I believe once you reach that level you can no longer adjust your FS skills. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
