Thread: Just how bugged *is* the Melee Accuracy quest?

With phase 3 coming up on Ahazi (and my needing only this last branch to move to the exit quest) I'm understandably anxious about it. I helped a guildie with it once and it seemed annoying. As I read about it I saw a lot of information about bugs, bugs, bugs. Terrain problems, only one viable base, walking commander, etc.
But I'm still a bit confused; what bugs are there? More importantly, are there workarounds? >_>

Well hears somthing for you that you can probly plan on. So i attempted this quest and failedfirst time around i did even get into the base b/c the turrects killed me even thought i wa 200m away from them but thats beside the point. I clone get buffed and get ready to hed back out. Only to find that the second i leave the outpost i get attacked. Yup somehow the "small block turret" grew super powers and found a way to attack me from 4km away. So i died in front of the outpost. Cloned again and the second i leave instant death. The only way i found to get around it is if you fail travel to another planet and come back. You devs have to get urthings strait. This quest is bugged to hell and it really isnt fair. Also this isnto the only bugg im hearing about there are lots more just look at the forums and how many bugged mele accuracy threds there are. We should not be expected to compleat this thing its a joke.

Here is the problems with it.


#1) 2 Hour Respawns on Bases. With only 2 mabye 3 viable bases to escort from, the wait time is horrible.


#2) His Terrain Negotiation sucks really really bad. And we all know Dathomir's terrain. He can climb hills but its super super slow. Its better if you take him up them at a angle. If its too steep and he gets stuck, he just stops then starts to walk back toward the base and you have to click Follow Me on his radial menu.


#3) I completed a base 6k to the South West but only due to the flat ground except for 2 hills. Even this was so incredibly close, he started dying 4 steps from Capt. Sarguillo but I walked forward and got credit.


As for the turrets, they are kinda buggy and if you agro one, they will shoot you even up to 1000m away. So if you have doctor/CM its best to try and take em out even if your friends arent there. They only hit for 300 each so its not that bad. Even as a Rifleman I was able to take hits from 2 Turrets while shooting them and keeping myself up with Combat Medic skills. Then you or your friend will power down the shields. At this point you have about 10 seconds to take down the Front gate before 8-10 Sith Thugs spawn. As soon as the door is dead, Rush into the back of the base and let a ranged person shoot the turret inside so you all dont pull the sith in. Once its dead pull the sith in 1-2 at a time till you kill 5. Commander spawns, blow up second gate then I let my TK/Swordsman friend run out, agro all the Sith, and run them away while I grabbed the Commander. Once I was clear of the base I told him to go on and shake agro. So he runs until they break off, then meets up with me for escort and kills the 1-2 sith that attack periodcally. If you get a base 2-3k even 4k away any direction its doable. 4k is pushing it with the hills Northwest. But like I said, I did a 6k base Southwest and made it. Good Luck!

you could just do the other quest and do this when youre a jedi/more powerful...heh its what im doin, at least i know i can finish it no problem

I have no problem surviving at all.....the problem was how bugged the stupid quest is.I need this in order to unlock as i planned, im not going to wait around another 3 extra weeks.

Did it with a partner on Infinity today (didn't know him before so we're not a trained team ). The key to success was...


a) ... getting the waypoints to the four closest bases from the stickied FS post (base waypoints in SE quadrant of Dath)


b) ... driving to all four bases to find out about their names (happened to be Xi, Beta, Lamda and Mu)


c) ... killing a bunch of Sith Shadows to find a remote for one of those bases (the hardest part... we had to kill a lot)


d) ... taking out the outerturrets while the shield was still up (saves time)


e) ... killing the 5 Sith Shadows (easy)


f) ... waiting for the despawn of the Sith Shadow guys (didn't work too well... they despawned and we ran to the gate when 5+ new Sith guys *immediately* spawned behind our backs shooting us from behind... we blew the gate, ran inside and both hid in the Commander's tent)


g) ... waiting for next despawn. It worked rather well at first, ... we got outside but I (who had the job to bring down the shields) got incapped near the base. Not sure if it was my incap or if my partner ran too far away from the Commander but the Commander walked back inside. The spawn was still rather low though and so my partner went back in solo (turrets and gates were gone from 1st try still, of course) and he recaptured the Commander no problem.


h) ... walking the Commander back to Aurilia. It was really annoying because he still only walks and we had to kill/avoid (concussion shot FTW ) numerous waves of Sith guys.


I'm not sure when the 1 hour timer (to death of the Commander)starts but if it is from the moment you take the shields down then we didn't have much time left (I scrolled up and checked... we had maybe 5 minutes left at most if the shield takedown is what matters). We did the Beta base on Infinity which is not the closest one to the village. The closest one is Xi at 2200m and Beta is at a little over 3000m. I'm glad we made it... it was quiteexciting .

The timer starts when you click Capture from the Radial Menu. You see the captain say something to the effect of:


You'll never take me alive. I'll be dead long before I reach an interrogation chamber. *giggle* *crack* *swallow* indicating he bit on a pill and swallowed it.

Then its a race against time, and terrain, to the village.

I did it on Ahazi pre-CU. Took 3 tries, all 9k away. First time something bunked and we needed to start over. 2nd time he died from poison 300m outside the Village. Made it last time. All were done walking.

This was pre-CU however buffed and done with a speed capped Rifleman and Pikeman. If we got attacked we could kill them quickly.

You can make it 9k though post-CU you may have to spend a lot of time killing things that aggro you.

Spend some time looting a lot of the Waypoint Datapads and wait till you get one that's 6k or closer to the village and you should be all good.

Okay, next question - if you do the quest grouped, will both the guy who escorts the commander and the guy who drops the shields get credit?
