I just recently unlocked the Luck tree and filled it, I found that Naboo had everything that i needed to survey for. Just outside of Theed is where I did my quest surveys. This quest is simple, it took me maybe 25-30 minutes to do. When you survey a waypoint will show up leading you to the spot with the highest concentration of what you are looing for until you get to a spot with atleast 50% of that resource. Then, when you locate the 50% spot, the quest journal will update and tell you what to survey for next. Most of what you survey for is found using the mineral survey device. (lots of steel, copper, iron, gemstone, etc.) The hardest part of this quest for me was finding the energy resource, but even then that part only took me like an extra 5 minutes to locate it. This unlock is a "gimme" and I don't think you will have any problem getting it. Good luck, and when you get your unlock leave us a post to tell us how it went for you. Just to be clear, you have to be standing on a 50% or better concentration or whatever resource you're after. Survey one more time to get the quest journel to update (some people have thought that just seeing a 50% spot on the tool display was enough)

One other thing I can suggest....when you need to survey for power it needs to be solar or wind...the known petrochemicla power the radiolgical power etc will not work...I found a sweet spot of almost 90% of rad when I did the Surveying quest and it took me about 2 minutes to realize that it didn't count....

I surveyed on Naboo as well, a lot safer if you are not paying attention and everyhting you need is there. You can survey from your bike as well, I just drove around and as long as the survey check occurs while you are in an area over 50%, even if you are moving, it counts. I think I was done in perhaps 25 minutesish after I hit Naboo and that was with a drink break. Concur that wind and solar was hardest part. Lots of deposts, few over 50%.
