I was gone for a week and was wondering when fs exp for the village got nerfed from 3:1 ratio to 30:1 making it useless for all practical purposes thx.

More than a month ago...and its not useless. Just be thankful you weren't around for the XP change they made and took back because of all the people complaining.

It wasn't just nade sploiters, though I guess there were enough of them. It is the overall speed for all village grinders that they were considering, I think. We know the village is gated to slow down new Jedi from unlocking. Changing the combat xp conversion is simply an additional gate to everyone. It will now take almost twice as long for everyone.

I don't think it really matters why they did it, honestly. The effect is the same either way.

actually now that you have the exp nerf, it breaker down like this

1.2m weapons xp = 40k fs xp

300k combat xp = 10k fs xp

200k random weapons xp = 6666 fs xp

hope that helps

Its pretty impossible to do now, yes.

I just started on the village ( see my reg date ), did 22 holo professions on my old toon ( knows how to grind ) but 1 / 30 is a killer and its not even fun.

lol No offense, but it's not impossible. Itdoes take a lot longer, but it's far from impossible. Think of it this way... It takes 223,500,000 weapons/combat XP to grind all 6 branches of FS (1.225 million XP per branch * 6 + 50k novice boxes *2). If you're in a decent group, you can get 1 million weapons/combat XP per hour, but for sake of example, let's say you average 750k weapons/combat XP per hour. That means it will take you 298 hours of grinding to get all XP necessary for the 6 branches. If you want to finish in 18 weeks, you need to grind between 16 and 17 hours per week.

The best thing to do is just set a goal for yourself. My goal was tocap4 times a week. Sometimes I capped more, sometimes less, but I stayed on that pace for the most part, and it really helped keep the task from seeming so daunting. The problem most people run into is that they can't get past that 223.5 million XP they need, but if that 223.5 million XP is instead reduced to 12.416 million XP per week, or 3.104 million per day (assuming you play 4days a week), it seems less daunting.

It is certainly more time consuming than it used to be. But to me, it doesn't matter how long the grind is, I'm going to suck it up and get it done because for me, the end goal is worth it.

why are you still posting on these so-called 'worthless' threads. the guy told you he'd been out of the game for a while so cut him a break. I don't care what anyone says, changing all exp to 3:1 was a bad idea. now it really is just a pain in the ass. one of the reasons i bought this game when it launched was because i thought it was going to be more than just an endless grinding treadmill. I don't agree with all the flippant changes SOE makes. You can't let certain people grind through the whole jedi profession by making a double exp week and then change it so drastically for other people less than a month later. What seperates me from the power grinders is that i actually have a job and a life and the villlage grind is a pain in the rear for most people like me. sure its not impossible, but its probably going to take me longer to do the whole village grind than it will for me to get my full templated jedi. i think it should be the other way around. it shouldnt be neccasarily as hard to become a jedi but mastering the profession should really take some time. if you ask most of the people who are becoming jedi its not because they are trying to be uber powerful, its just because being a jedi looks like fun and we are missing out when half of the other characters on my server are already frickin jedi. how does SOE ever hope to get new people if none of those new people can even hope to get into the game and be on the same level as everyone else? no new player is going to want to buy this game if they have to wait a year and grind to a ridiculous degree just to get a jedi. they nerf all the wrong things for the wrong reason and they never think about how their action balance or unbalance the game. its like they take one step forward and then two steps back everytime and expect to get somewhere where everyone will be happy.

Yes, the FS path is nothing more than a mindless grind, and the path to a full template Jedi is an even worse grind (28181 bols to full template Jedi, 26387 bols to finish FS). But look at the overall picture... In one corner, you have Jedi who complain because they're not powerful enough. In another corner, you have FS people who complain that it takes too long to become a Jedi. SOE knows that you can't have it both ways, or this game will become even more unbalanced than it already is (after all, how can a Jedi be 1.5x more powerful than normal professions when there are no more normal professions). They make these changes to discourage people from becoming a Jedi, while also focusing on trying to make the other professions more interesting to play, all of which serversto try and bring some level of balance back into the game.

Could SOE have made it easier? Yes. Could SOE have made it more interesting? Yes. But the system is what it is, so suck it up and get it done. If you don't like it, you don't have to play a Jedi - there are plenty of other professions you can be.
