Search function not working (great) checked all the stickes so far, and well I still have some questions, specially for those who were visited by the old man "early".
For me, after getting the badges and glowie status, it was approximately 2 days to get visited, but I didnt try to shuttle around, or walk to the center of the map, etc.
Currenlty, thanks to the double XP thing, I finished the village, filled my 6 branches and Im damn proud of it. But as you may know, this 2 day wait will become a living hell to me, since I really want to start with all the trails and stuff.
So my question, how does the "Shuttle around, walk to the 0,0 coordinates, etc" method works? I tried it for the first day, logging in and out the game too, but after like 3 hours, I just gave up.
If anyone can share their experience, it will be really appreciated.

In my experience these are just unofficial tips that may or may not work (didn't for me)...
...he comes precisely when he means to and not a second late or early! ![]()

it's all a load of bollox. the old man will come after a set amount of time (changes for each toon) and doing all this shuttle crap won't make any difference

It seems that possibly being more active (fighting crafting, etc) will make him come sooner... I got his visit the normal way, after about 1.75 days, and then, after reading a FAQ on this forum about being more active will make him come fast, got the sith in about 12 hours after the old amn... so it worked for me. At any rate, it will pass the time faster

it's completely random, with no way to speed it up. On one char I tried every trick posted, took 2.5 days. Another guy I juts sat outside my house all day.. say about 7 hours after unlock, he came running up to me.
/shrug
*edit* unlocked my 4th yesterday, old man came right before I logged at like 2am.. decided to stay up and get it all done... only had one bugged trial too I think things are starting to get fixed.

They didn't work for me...I ended up waiting it out. He came during day 3.

It's not true. It's just something to tell impatient people so they go and do that for 3 days instead of moaning on here for 3 days
Congratz on completing the village, hopefully I'll be there in a few weeks!

Just do what you normally do, then logout in a player city. He will be there in the morning or shortly there after.

Yeah, thanks for the reply guys, and it's funny how once you are done grinding, you dont know what to do next! (Given my situation where I have made almost every single quest in the game, etc)
I will probably grind more tomorrow, and bank enough XP to get Ranged Defense later, instead of survival or vehicle control. BTW, is there any issue with the game (i.e. you get bugged) if I drop a FS branch and train another?

It makes absolutely no difference. When you become glowy, just as when you do your exit quest, your character is assigned a random time limit. Usually between 24-48 hours and usually showing up about an hour or less after login on the second day.
Those people who claim it works would be the same ones who, in third world countries, might go to take a poop a couple times, have it rain on them, and suddenly believe without a doubt that pooping makes it rain. hehe.

Hmm I must be doing something wrong
It has been 5 days for me now and I am just doing missions out of player cities, playing actively.
The only thing I can think of it that I tend not to log out, just go afk (to save all my chats resetting all the time). A friend told me to logout for 10 mins and log back in so I am trying that atm.
The other thing is that I still have a newbie quest uncompleted in my journal -- is that causing the issue?
