That's right, lvl 77. Now I'm in a loop. The old man gives me a crystal, the next day his lvl 77 Sith thugs come and spank my little 4444TK/0000Pike, lvl 46 bumm. Wash, rinse, repeat, with lots of equipment degradation. I can't even respec into anything that would stop a lvl 77 from 1-hit killing me.

yes there are MANY MANY MANY things that were overlooked when they switched to a level based system.

the "answer" of course will be 'find a group to help you' but how rediculous is it to ask a group of people to stay with you all day until the Sith happen to show up. people want to play their own game, not follow you around like puppies until a random spawn shows up.

there are LOTS of things that still need fixed...

you mean put the crystal in the bank until you are a high enough level to take on and defete TWO level 77 NPCs, forgoing all chance at the Village Quests until you you are a high enough COMBAT level to begin even the artisan quests in the Village.

yes, i guess that is ONE way to handle it. it would be a little frustrating however as a line like the "Luck" line can be unlocked in about an hour or two of surveying. (did it myself last night on Tattooine in 1 hour and 45 minutes...no fights, of course i dropped artisan after, but i have three Luck boxes filled from med XP i had banked)

so sure, EVERYONE that is not a high enough CL can bank thier crystals untill they ARE high enough level to defete two level 77 NPCs. well, everyone eccept those who have no intention of going the combat route, but would like the FS bonuses to crafting. those people will have to find a group of body guards to protect them from the level 77 NPCs.

surely you can see where this is headed. they made some HUGE mistakes when they switched to a LEVEL based system and then rushed to have the expansion out before the movie. these mistakes need to be FIXED. i am not 100% against the CU (though i thought i was at first) there are some things i genuinely like about it, but there are MANY MANY MANY issues that quite simply were never addressed nor even THOUGHT about. see my post entitled "More than a little worried..."

no clue but if your not a lvl 80 or at least can put up a fight then GOOD luck with the village. Most missions are killing siths in about groups of 1-10(not includidng phase 4). Anyways get masterpikeman/tkm w/e you can and kd the first one and center of being. Just smack the crap outta that one thats kded adn then after him the other one isthesame

As soon as I got the crystal I put it in the bank - I am only cl60 the very next day the Sith thugs abmushed me - Then the old man appeared again and now I am not sure what to do! I have to see if the sith come again or not but I think I may now be bugged.

Maybe people should properly prepare for the Old Man, Sith, and Village. Why should the entire system be changed just because someone is level CL40something and can't kill the Sith? Sorry but Jedi shouldn't be something you rush into at an early combat level. How does one that is CL40 something expect to complete any FS missions if he can not defeat 2 CL77 Sith? I am CL72 and was able to take both of them solo. You need to level up and not expect the entire system be changed because some people are in a mad rush to start the path to Jedi.

I should add that I know some people want the crafting bonuses. I guess you need to group. Instead of finding excuses find a solution. If you complain about having people stand by you all day until the Sith come, then maybe you shouldn't get FS. Each profession, including Jedi, has limitations. Just because this method is hard doesn't mean it needs to be changed. Adapt or don't do it.

cl 46 is definitely too early to start the FS journey. Yes, you can use a group to go ahead and complete the Sith missions... but once you get to the Village how do you expect to complete the quests? Level up... in this system it takes like a day. Then start.
