I was asked by a good friend to help her in the latest village defense mission. I am a Jedi ( around 230 points ) and quite a few of my close friends also agreed that i would be a big help. I tryed to keep friends healed, and drew away as many thugs as I could, and when my party all got a few whacks on a pirate or outlaw I would finish them off, so they could keep fighting elsewehere. They all said they got credit for kills, and I used force KD2 to drop any runners, and to try to keep the thugs at bay.

I died four times, but got a doctor rez each time. after 4 different phases all of my friends got the unlock and I left last with my friend a fencer. I was wounded, BF, and beaten pretty badly, I knew I would be on the terminals, but at 230 points its hard to get a BH to take my mission anymore.

Well as I rounded the corner to the outpost I got a mind fire blast in the face by a lone BH... I dismounted armed my saber, but couldnt keep up with the damage, he hit me a few good times before I got my saber out to block. I tryed to force KD him and run, but alas he got the best of me and I died. I knew the risks of helping friends, and wasnt prepared... he fought with honor and left. I was -550k xp... I cloned just to make sure my vis was reset...

Later I chatted with him, and guess what? The only reason he took my mission is because a fellow FS sensitive player tipped him off, and kept him updated on my location and when I left the village.

I didnt mean to offend any FS players, I was asked to help by players from my city that really enjoyed having me there to help... apparently someone there didnt like it, but nobody said anything...

I made up the -xp right after and am off the terminals, I wasnt upset that much, but knowing a FS player had saber envy really kinda hurt.

I kept 2 macros set up /shout pirate over here and /shout outlaw over here... I would force KD them or just keep them busy with my 1st gen saber ( no specials ) when all the surrounding players got in thier hits and moved on, I would eliminate the target. And i tanked 2 thugs at a time on several occasions until I could draw them away from others.

What did I do wrong? Or was it just saber envey?

I gave out free synthsteak, and vercupti, and made a big speech to kinda add to the content. I praised the players there " truly safe will the galaxy be with you young jedi to protect us"

WOuld any of you be upset by this kind of participation from a Jedi? For me it would help keep me excited about becoming a Jedi.

Sorry if I offended anyone on wanderhome last night.

I have a fs character and a bh character. I am trying to get jedi, while killing jedi at the same time. Dunno if it's saber envy that got you killed, some bh's and jedi just don't have allegiance to either side.

Doubt you offended anyone. It was probably an opposite factioned player who just called up his MBH buddy to tip him off about the opportunity. Call it player based visibility where a player taking an active part in the visibility system.

Yeah, being a nice guy is not all that it is cracked up to be. I salute you for sacrificing your time and XP to help a bunch of young players. As one myself, I always appreciate your kind.

As to the BH tip: When I completed the quest, likewise, there was a jedi there helping the large group of players. Usually, if I am in coronet, or theeds, I will alert anyone in guildchat of an opposing faction jedi. In case a BH wants a surprise attack. But it never even crossed my mind to call in this jedi, he was helping all of us. Part of me says hey, thats just uncool...but....you are a jedi. period. It is the prerogative of ANYONE to alert a BH of your presence and have you taken out. If I become a jedi one day, I will expect the same.

hmmn, probably right on many counts... I am currently neutral... and alot of my FS and new Jedi friends are too so BH group tefs dont interfere with us defending each other.

I got alot of tells of thanks today, and had players dropping off gifts for the help. It was well worth it.

So if your reading this, keep your pet ready for the next phase, if I am asked to help again i will, I made back the lost xp and have 500k banked ...

i think you acted very honorably and would think taht it was a member of the opposite faction that dimed you out. I also would like to think that it was someone not from your party that you were helping. It would change a lot of attitudes if all the Jedi acted likle you do.

I salute you/

Awesome attitude, glad you didnt get too discouraged.Could be saber envy, but it's sad that anyone would try to hurt the person who's trying to help them get their own saber.. kinda like biting the hand that feeds..... well you know what I mean...

I tried to help a group yesterday during the day. They invited me to join, (I was really only there to convert) and I hung out unitl I saw that they were pretty self sufficient. I'm 0440 Doc and intended to heal, but they didnt really need me! lol Some waves are badly in need of more players tho, and this will get worse as the phase goes on and more people complete it, anyone willing to help is appreciated I'm sure.

We had a Jedi helping us on my first night in the village. He tanked all the thugs, and left everything else for everyone else. It was great! Thank you for your help!

The player that sold you out HAS NO HONOR. And should not be in the Village.

Thanks for Helping. It's people like that really tick me off.

There was one there the second night I went... actually two. A knight and a padawan.

"There were young knights among them who had never been present at a stricken field. Some could not look upon it, some could not speak. They held themselves apart from the others who were cutting down prisoners at my lord's orders, for the prisoners were a body too numerous to be guarded by those of us who were left.
Then Jean de Rrye, an aged knight of Burgundy who had been sore wounded in the fight, rode up to the group of young knights and said: "are ye maidens with your downcast eyes? Look well upon it. See all of it. Close your eyes to nothing. For the battle is fought to be won, and this is what happens if you lose."
