I have posted too many times in here.....and I will quit. I am just wondering about all those jedi who speak ill of nade grinders. There are only a few ways you can get to jedi. 1. You did hologrinding in the day.....now there is a system for a whole other discussion. 2. You ground out xp and exchanged in the current village system.
If you were of #2 you either were doing non-combat grinding (hmmmm...) or you ground out your xp in weapons or combat. If you did weapons xp you spent about 18 weeks or so (if you did if fast)...sitting at a nest of something spamming aread attack...you got your weapon xp and combat xp (which I am sure no one ever exchanged that, that would be too easy)....and you got your jedi.
Then you come to the forum and flame the new guys for standing in a lair and throwing nades.....how pathetic....Same concept, different weapon (which is about 1000 X more expensive). I just don't get it. For those that are grinding right now and say well I won't do nade grinding because it is unjedi like, unstar wars like, unwhatever like, you too are pathetic...just because this whole system is unstar wars like. Let people do what they want to do...no one is hurt from this no one is any better or faster more or less uber becuse of it. As the saying in my generation goes...."Pull up your pants and get over it!"
With nade ginding no one is standing at the village spamming nades.....in fact you will most of the time not even see these people at all. If will take them about 18 weeks to get their jedi...just like you.
You really don't ever hear any complaint of anyone grinding any other profession...standing in a field shooting things for hours on end to master pistoleer or even tkm...just jedi.....BH grind their xp too....and sad to say and kick many jedi butt. We also don't flame jedi for going in to hiding to grind out xp with ls.....and I am sure if there was a faster way you would do it.
Live and let live........I am sorely disappointed with those who think less of others....

Don't worry about it mate.
The Jedi who post here, such as myself, are mainly the new generation of Jedi.
I unlocked and gained my Padawan status about 3 weeks ago. Life is good. How did i do it? Grenades all the way baby hehe. I had the 6 unlocks i needed, and was too lazy to grind xp for the longest time. When i got to it, i chose nades. It was the logical choice.
The Jedi who come back here to b*tch and moan about how we're going through it easily are really just fooling themselves. Since we still had to wait for the phases to come around before we could unlock the branches we wanted.
If i actually add up how long it took me to reach Jedi Padawan, well, the day the village went live, i got glowy.
I unlocked my first branch in phase 1 of the original phase 1. I then proceeded to unlock each phase there after, until in the second phase 4, i decided it was time to get my FS xp. So it actually took me...
approx 25 weeks.
That's half a year of gaming almost.
And apparently i was one of those Jedi who did it the quick way
The only reason the older Jedi whine now, is because they don't want anyone else getting Jedi status, they want it all to themselves and to stop others from enjoying what they have.
And I will say, that it is enjoyable. I stopped grinding after my fs xp grind. And while it might take me 5 years to finish my Jedi template, who cares. I'm having fun.
So careful about which Jedi you choose to have a go at please
As not all of us who stick around this forum are the whiny ones hehe.
This forum is far far far nicer to read and post in than the jedi forum. that's why i'm here still.

If you think nade grinding is bad I ask you this:
If given the chance would you use a spoon to get all the snow out of your driveway or would you use a snowblower?
To cut the grass would you use scissors or a lawn mower?

Lol, had a feeling I would get a response like this. I didn't literally mean for you to do it, I just thought whoever read it would've understood that it was a comparison between nade grinding and melee grinding.
Nades = Snowblower (Easier way)

Great post Xanthum. I know it bothers you, it bother me as well, and I am finished and already into Jedi. I know it discourages you to get flamed for trying to get the hardest grind of the game over with. Yes, hardest. The Jedi grind is long, but fun, and well worth it. The FS grind is the real pain in the arse. And, like Sau'Rai and many others, I did nades. Hell, Sau'Rai and I were in the same solo groups most of the time getting our experience for FS skills. But, you have to do what you gotta do. If its nades, do it. If its rezzing, go for it. If its, Double Mastery, have at it. Don't let those who have been there and gone, or haven't even been there at all(holo grinders) discourage you. I know alot of Jedi don't like seeing the Jedi population boom, and others don't care. But, in the end just have fun, grind your heart out. Throw nades, and pay others VERYlittle mind. 'Cause if you quit, then they have succeeded in knocking off another Jedi Hopeful. So, stick to it, and when that time comes, enjoy it, live it up. It's your moment, and becoming a true Jedi (I mean a Padawan, not an Initiate w/ a Saber :smileytongue
is one of the coolest and most rewarding experience of the game.

I gotta love hearing that. Seriously, how Jedi-like is it to go around killing things to become a Jedi in the first place?

Israth wrote:/puts up flameshieldWell, the problem I have personally with nade grinding is it takes no effort. You get mission, you run to mission, you hit button a bunch, and repeat for a while. The nade grinders usually have ALL the FS XP they need grinded and put away before their first phase is over, and I don't see how that is challanging or rewarding, but if you're only looking to get Jedi to be leet, and not for the experience, to each his own.and PS, I'm not a Jedi, I just unlocked my first branch and haven't gotten to novice yet. I just grind to the best of the abilites I already have, instead of pick up a profession I've never used just to grind everything in a few days. I can't wait until they fix grenades giving combat xp. It's the same as seeing a huge group of AFK bots standing around Paemos constantly shooting/killing/rezing their AFK bot alts or AFK bot friends. But then again, I'm a RPer, not a leet powergamer.Message Edited by Israth on 03-26-2005 03:22 AM
This isn't a flame. But I have to ask...what effort are you referring to? It's all just clicking a mouse button. I can tell you what nade grinding DOES require, a LOT of credits. Nade grinding is expensive in terms of game credits spent. The original poster is right on target.
There is absolutely no difference in the fact that no matter how you slice it it's all just grinding. Which is button clicking.
I did three branches trading rifle and unarmed xp and three branches with nades. No difference. I take that back. With nades I was actually able to play with my guildmates once in a while and do other FUN stuff instead of mindless MOB slaughtering.

I agree with original poster.
If anyone flame nade xp because its unlike jedi or unlike starwars,
There is no difference between nade xp and normal xp grinding
First grinding is grinding. I enjoyed nade xping myself . It wasnt totally fun but I had fun indeed.
Second if anyone argue true jedi-like, u act like true jedi in game? There is no role of jedi in SWG. It's simply one of profession u play.
No need to worry about flames and whines. Why are u trying to become a jedi? It's totally for ur own fun in game. If u ever wanna enjoy game, you have to respect others too.
Cheer all fsxp grinders!
