LOL I keep seeing this phrase in here, Jedi doesn't sound like much of an accomplishment if you can get it casually.

Main Entry: 1ca·su·al
Pronunciation: 'kazh-w&l, 'ka-zh&-w&l, 'ka-zh&l
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French & Late Latin; Middle French casuel, from Late Latin casualis, from Latin casus fall, chance -- more at CASE
1 : subject to, resulting from, or occurring by chance
2 a : occurring without regularity : OCCASIONAL b : employed for irregular periods
3 a : feeling or showing little concern : NONCHALANT b (1) : INFORMAL, NATURAL (2) : designed for informal use
synonym see ACCIDENTAL, RANDOM

If you are a casual gamer, maybe you shouldn't be able to get Jedi, maybe this was their attempt to keep you out of Jedi....

problem . . . many casual players are veterans of the game . . . players from way before there were any jedi. Are you saying that players that have been active for 2 years don't deserve Jedi purely based on the fact they are only capable of playing 6-10 hours a week? That would mean that they their money isn't worth the same as the power gamer.

Hey I have an idea . . . why don't we pay by the hour . . . that way the power gamers who burn through the day grinding XP pay more for their jedi and seeing how the casual gamer can't get one . . why should they pay the same amountas those who can? It would also make people who want to grind AFK pay for it to . . . wow 2 problems solved!

Its a fundamental principle of MMO's that a person who plays more inherently gets more rewards than somebody who plays less. Its like driving cross country....its the same distance no matter what kind of vehicle you drive in, but the guy who drives non-stop is going to get there quicker than somebody who takes his time and only drives a few hours a day.

No one says casual gamers can't become Jedi. You just will take much longer. I am a casual player and I am months from Jedi. I have been playing since the beginning of the game. The problem is the "casual" gamers want to be casual and still achieve Jedi in 4 months. That should not happen. Jedi is supposed to be hard and time consuming. I am tired of selfish and silly people demanding that the path to Jedi me so easy that a casual gamer can do it in a few months.

The Casual Gamer can become a Jedi. I am proof!! I have almost all FS XP banked, will unlock at phase 2 and I am a casual gamer. I have two very young kids, a wife, a mortgage, a 9-5 job. Having kids seriously cut back on my playing time. It will take awhile for the casual gamer to unlock, it has taken me since launch but I am dedicated to this game. The casual gamer can do!!

The Jediclassis a product. It is the "cash cow" and poster product that is used in all advertising and marketing activities. We are consumers. We pay money for a product.and or service. As a consumer, I expect my product to be delivered in a reasonable amount of time relative to the time payment is made. As a vendor, (SOE) marketsand advertises their product in hopes the consumers will purchase it. Well, what is SOE marketing?I think we all know the answer to that.

Casual Gamers, Power Gamers, etc - we are allconsumers. We paid (and continually pay) for a product that needs to be delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I don't need to be rewarded with the product I paid for, or accomplish something to receive the productI paid for. For those that feel like you should "work for" or"be rewarded" fora product for which you pay for - then the next time you are in fast food drive-through, search the menu for the burger of your choice, drive up and pay for your meal, but tell the worker at the window to refrain from giving you the meal and give you "fries" instead. Inform them that you need to work for that meal first and when you are done washing the windows of the burger joint, they can reward you with the meal that you just bought.

You know, I wouldn't mind grinding and "working for my Jedi" if I didn't have to pay for the game or any monthly fees and SOE paid me money for my "work". I would no longer be a consumer purchasing a product. I would be a employee working for a "reward" or "accomplishment".

Not flamming here but seriously, if you don't have the time to grind it.....you won't get it.

To the poster who said casual gamers shouldnt be a jedi, why? Why should I as a paying player be denied jedi simply because I have a wife, kids, job, other obligations to contend with. Why should I be denied because I can't put in time like the kiddies on summer break, not old enough, or too lazy to work? I really would like to hear your answer.... I am waiting. This oughta be rich.

ME ME ME!! do you act like that around your kids? You realize that you use the word Isix times in five sentences.I'm not saying that Jedi shouldn't be available to you, if you can find the time to grind it good for you. I am saying that you shouldn't be able to "casually" grind it, well you could it would just take forever. Come on people Jedi is the alpha class grinding it should be a dreaded task that most will not finish because well "they don't have time". Can you imagine Yoda going "we understand you have a wife and kids Obi Wan, you only have to fight half of Grevious then just FR2 out and cloak"

I'm betting you don't really have kids, infact probly not married either, you are far to selfish.

im a 16 year old and play it casually, i am going for jedi and its not hard to casually grind out stuff, an hour here 2 hours there adds up, and because you only have a short amount of time to play it you focus more on that task instead of other distracting things, and just to show that i am concerned about myself more than the game I,I,I,I,I,I,I oh look theres over 7 instances of the word I there

There was no need to state your age and anyone that uses the word instance out of context hangs out on kashyyk far too much. I'm guessing Rryatt, Instance 3 !?

what does it matter who gets jedi? this game has lost its appeal to me with the constant changes and nerfs.......i simply dont feel like adapting anymore. maybe a long break is in order, the endless grind seems like a waste of time with no real adventure quality to it..........anyone else feel the same? i dont care how long till i get a jedi, just make the trip there fun.

i have been to every poi, been everywhere on kash, stuck my toes in most every hole on all the proffered planets, mastered 6 elite proffesionsbefore even thinking about the village quests........not bragging(cause anyone who brags about their time in game obviously hasnt discovered sex yet), just clarifying for those who say, "please go explore first".

so, anyone ever play EVE online?......sounds like a perfect way to waste my time till i poke my head back into the swg door.
