Thread: TC Conversion Rate Change

The problem with mysterious is that its hard to demonstrate to the players that its working. No one likes to just guess if there is a bug gating their advancement toward a goal. I agree that the current system is too easy to become glowy in a short amount of time and there perhaps should be some time gating going on like there is in the village. I read someone say earlier that they were only in the game two weeks and if they couldn't start becoming a Jedi by then they were going to quit. That is just sad. There are a lot of things to do in the game to fill up two weeks that you shouldn't be ready to leave if you can't start to attain the "end game" by then.

Why might I ask ? There is no point any more in combat XP, since you can store more regular Xp than combat. This will slow grind so much that it will be almost impossible to get FS xp.
That's kinda the point IMO. There are new jedi springing up by the dozens every day. And all they do is go to the trail and afk grind 2 or 3 mil xp a day in a group.

I agree there, but still combat XP is gained by 1/10 of weapon specific XP. There is no point in making it convert as exactly like weapon specific XP. They did this to eliminate the grenade grinders from Post-cu, which is needed because you can finish your FS grind in a day during phase 4. But it didn't require measures as drastic as this.

Think you answered your own question on why do it
I think all of this is hilarious to be honest. Im relatively new to the game and I am still four unlocks away from Padawan trials, though I still don't think this is a bad idea. If you think about it, it takes three weeks for the phases to switch over anyway. In most cases, players will have all their FS xp grinded out before their second unlock. This will just give players something to do while they wait for the phases to change over.
I just think its funny because SOE keeps going back and forth with every patch. Its like they can never make up their mind, do they want to nerf something, or do they not want to nerf it.Similar to spoiling a child, you feed them everything they want and then when you realized you spoiled them and take it away, they start whining all the time wondering where the golden spoon went. I have played many MMO in my time but never have I seen a dev team that is quite as lazy as SWG's dev team. When they make a decision they need to stick to it, and if they don't stick to andit goes south then they should get off their lazy asses and add more content to the game rather than reversing their own decisions. Seems like all they do is reverse code around with every patch. Its no wonder their customers are so upset with all the nerfing that goes on in the game.Customers don't liketo pay so that they can become Beta testers in anotheronline world. You would think they would have seen all of this coming.
If SOE would only spend as much time on content as they do nerfing the game, it may actually be more enjoyable for everyone. I have said it once, and I will say it again. Patches should bring content, not nerfs.

Uh... For clarity, BH exp has always been 5:1 when converted to FS Combat exp, but 1:1 when converted to FS Reflex exp. Has the latter changed on TC, or is whoever told you just noticing that he/she is trying to convert to different types of FS exp?
(this was meant for the DEVS, of course, not that they will read it ... :S )
