I never wanted to be a jedi in the first place.

I just want that second character slot.

I agree on that they are making it a little less desirable to become one. But I still want to become one as an acheivment...I mastered 25 proffesions in the Holo-Grinding days only to be inturputed by Pub 9...Now I'm trying to acomplish becoming one again hehe...Been waiting 690 days exactly do unlock it..And I most likley wont play it once i get it.

Only went Jedi as I have done everything else there is to do in the game, mastered every profession at one time or another, completed evey quest etc.

If they wanted to stop players becoming Jedi they would introduce PROPER content for the other 30 professions, as it stands there is none worth speaking of, never has been any and most likely never will be.

Jedi get all the content, thats why people who want to be riflemen, BH's etc end up going Jedi eventually. The flood gates opened a while back and the tank is getting full very fast.

Is Jedi undesirable? Maybe, but the other professions are a lot more undesirable once you have played them to the limited extent that the game allows.

All the Jedi who get glowy in 5 days, powergrind their FS boxes, and then go from Mellichae to full tempate in a week while AFK make GREAT content for BH's because they have no idea how to actually play the game. And, no, we're not all going Jedi.

1) Make jedi almost impossble to ubtain, but be out landishly powerful....

that sounds familiar.... perhaps not to the degree you described, but anyone in this board remember the days of the hologrind....? one major advantage that this "glowy" BS cannot capture, is the process of learning the functions of each profession, effectively training you against every profession as well as forcing that wisdom which is characteristic to a jedi to begin with... i say bring back the hologrind, i'd love to see these noobs grind out 30 professions in 5 days..... just to grind jedi.... at least you learn something in the process

THis is very common amongst a lot of players, they just want that second slot, but for a lot of people in this boat once they have their jedi they change their minds. There's no law against changing their minds.

If the second slot was dissassociated from gaining the jedi we would probably have a lot fewer jedi than we do now. The problem came with the first generation jedi, where after you completed your hologrind you unlocked a secondary character. When they changed the system with the village where your main character could become a jedi rather than unlocking a fs slot/character, it seemed unfair to new second generation jedi that they could only have one character where as the older first generation would have two.

The problem with this game is very few ideas are thoroughly thought out and the organisation of these ideas is atrocious.

That was one thing I did like about the hologrind, it did give me insights into every other profession. As a result I have a dancer and many many crafters that I otherwise would not have had if it wasn't for it. Heck I wouldn't even be playing many of the brawler professions today either.

Well, i have said that there are two possible things that SOE was going to do about teh jedi epidemic (yes, it is that, or an infestation), both of which involved makeing jedi undisirable...

1) Make jedi almost impossble to ubtain, but be out landishly powerful....what i meen is that you have to get 100 badges to get glowy

each tree of FS is multiplyed by one thoousand (125K becomes 125 million fxp)

Jedi convesion rates become 10000 to 1

at that point the jedi would be nearly invisible and could defeat 40 to 50 level 80 players at teh same time

In order todo this, old jedi would be forced to work throught he system in some way so that they would not have a huge advantage

OR

2) Continue to nerf jedi untill they are the same as, or worse than, any normall combat proffession and make jedi a very easy class to obtain (mabay a starting proffessions, i would bring lots of new customers)

It seems clear now that both things are happing at the same time (to a degree) it is becomeing harder to be a jedi, and jedi are becoming increadibly weak, mere shadows of what they once were

anyway, i no longer have any desire to be a jedi, please /agree if you feel the same way, However, i am somewhat happy this is happeing because i hate seeing so many jedi around, i wish they were still rare

anyway, thanks for reading

Jedi is good for PVP but for PVE they are worthless. I'm BH/Carbineer and I play with a TKA friend. When he hits for armor break I do tremendous amounts of damage. Me and him can take down almost everything in game. When our Jedi friends are around and I check the combat log they rarely do even half the damage am doing which was surprising to me at first.

I want Jedi for the second slot and I also want one of the FS trees for luck. It might help me get better loot. (assuming it actualy DOES something).

It just gets you more credits from what I've seen. Haven't gotten anything better that I wouldn't expect off of a certain NPC.
