Thread: Defenses still stack right? just not over +125?

Is this accurate?Defenses can still stack across professions, but they are capped at +125.


can someone confirm this?

excluding the master box .. how much dodge do fencers get? My char builder is old. Thanks in advance.

So people can still get like +120 to Defense vs Knockdown if they are say a TKA/Fencer/Trickshot? I thought you would only recieve the Defense vs Whatever if you were using the weapon you got the bonus from.

defense vs knockdown/dizzy/stun etc.. always havehad a harcap of that you always have a minimum of 10% chance that the state sticks on you.. so really over 90 in those stats doesn't help and never has.. tested this last night too btw, hitting someone with 105 knockdown defence +70 more or so from food.. and first time I knocked her down on my 2nd hit.. (was lucky).. next time knocked her down on my 6th try... if there wasn't a hard cap on these things I'd never have been able to knockdown her with her 170+ knockdown defence

This is what I thought as well. But I thought there were some that would stack regardless of weapon used. Does anyone know for sure?

im master fencer/tkm/0444 in swordsman and i got 145 or so melee defense still

It may show in your skill box that you have it but you are hard capped at 125. Period.

Interesting, so it sounds like it would still be better to keep Doc and be able to heal it when it sticks then stack and hope for the best right?

"Defence vs _______" and Melee/Ranged Defenceare universal. Itdoes notmatter what weapon you are using, you still get full benefit (up to the cap) of your mods.


Dodge/Counterattack/Block are not universal. Itdoes matter what weapon you are using to get the benefit of these mods (also, up to the cap).

Actually, the statement about Dodge/Counterattack/Block above is only partially right.


While it does matter what weapon you use, it still can be any weapon that has the same bonus.


For example, if you use a Pistol you get your combined Dodge Bonus (Up to 125) even if you have dodge from the Fencer tree and none from the Pistol Tree (it doesn't tell a difference where the dodge is from, only that you can dodge with a pistol)


Same thing with a one handed sword and the Pistoleer Dodge...


The Counter attack and blocks can be stacked as well, but Dodge is the most abused one, which is why they put in the hard cap. They still are encouraging stacking, just not unhittable templets.


IF the weapons only worked with their own tree (Pistoleer using only Pistol dodge when he has the pistol) there would have been no reason to make the hard cap change in the first place.
