Please post Template concerns about mixing Jedi and Fencer here.

Incidentally I was thinking personally of eventually going this route...

With some Force Defence and Force Enhance and maybe some Force Powers.

Yes I'm aware you have to go lightsaber to get any xp at all... but it's doable.

i've been thinking of just hitting padewan and staying there to get BH visability and then smite them as they hunt for me.

another possibility i was thinking of is novice saber, master force powers, and as much fencer as i can manage.

You can be Master Fencer Master Defense with enough left over for Powers 0040. That gives 45 Jedi Toughness et all from Defense, and Force Weaken 2 Force Intimidate 2, and 2 skill boxes of another Power line.

Of course getting to that would be something on the order of 30 mil Jedi XP from going up two lightsaber trees and dropping it.

It'd be easier to go up 4004 Lightsaber then Master Defender then Force Power 0040 dropping most of Fencer in doing so, then working Fencer back up after dropping Lightsaber.

Of course if I did that I'd end up going up Force Healing as well so that I had...

Lightsaber 4004, Master Defender, bank up enough for Power 0040, then drop Lightsaber entirely, Train in Power 0040. Maybe Novice Medic I think there should be 17 SP left over from Master Fencer/Master Defender/6FS lines/Force Power 0040.

So My thought is...

Master Fencer
Master Force Defender
Force Power 0040
FS Melee/Ranged Defense
FS Melee Speed/Accuracy
FS Luck/Persuasion
Novice Medic

I'm pretty sure that force powers don't work while wearing armor, so it might not be worth giving up armor for the powers trees. Plus, does the jedi toughness work while wearing armor? This might be a question worth looking into before you try any of these templates.

Regardless of Force Powers working with armor (which they don't) the combined toughness as it stands would give effectivly 81% Armor verses Melee and 45% armor verses Ranged, plus the state defenses given by Jedi Defense tree/Fencer as well as maxed Melee and Ranged Def.

Defensivly it's a good build for armorless fighting. And combine a Holocron into the mix you can have 3-4 straight minutes of avoid incap, durring which you can whack away at your leisure.

Of course if you really wanted to go uber defense you could get the Enhance line that gives Force Armor 2. instead of Power 0040...

Of course you then trade a few uses of Avoid Incap and Force Weaken 2/Force Intim 2, for a few minutes of uber armor... might be worth it.

This is very interesting, so you could fight in your stylish fencer clothes and get rid of the ugly comp armor. Also, does jedi toughness work with armor?

I was thinking Defense/Powers... Weaken and Force Intim would be one hell of a wake up call for someone faceing off against you while you are pounding them with a Stun Bat. Not to mention Jedi Toughness + Melee Toughness nearly capping out without seas.

Think of the look on their faces as their HAM max starts dropping.

Yeah but the problem is that how can we rank up as jedi with little/no sabers. In addition jedi skill points are not on the same cost point arc that the mundane ones are. I'd like to go Defense/Powers too but it may take up too many points and not allowe me to be master fencer as well.

When you use a Force healing ability, can you have a Fencer weapon in your hand at the time?

The reason I ask, a jedi I encountered in game demonstrated what Master Force Healing can do. If you really are a purist fencer-- willing to overlook the poor damage dealing in high-end PvE, etc.-- Master Force Healing, with its Total Heal Self, plus enough Force Defense to cap your defenses, plus Fencer CoB would be pretty good at avoiding or healing damage and states, and your only active force cost would be the healing. Other than the ability to self buff, I think it could be harder to kill than Fencer/Doc.

If you aboslutely needed to wear armor, well, at least you'll still be a Fencer. You might even sacrifice some Force Defense to set yourself up Novice Medic/Pharm IV, Stim Ds would be useful with armor on. Might be redundant otherwise.

Overall, I think it would be great if you are really about all fencer, all the time.

How well does it compare to Master Fencer with Master Defense?

That is a good thought... theoretically I suppose it's possible that with Master Healing that you could effectivly accomplish Avoid Incap while constantly re healling your damaged pools which would keep you able to deal more damage in good spurts... not to mention wipeing off States.
