One hand hits target ONE of the pools, basically at random, while scatter hits target all 3 pools and split the damage up between them. So, if, for instance, you're trying to hit your target's action pool, a one-hand hit MIGHT get it while a scatter hit WILL get it, just for less damage.

Just wondering how effective scatter hit is, as I see almost zero coverage of it. Even pulled out a search and couldn't find much. I'm going to get it anyway, just wondering is it higher priority then the other attacks?

its pretty effective if your targets Action or Mind bars are alot lower then health, hit scatter go ahead and kill em off, i usually aim for health but sometimes in a group the other stats go down faster so thats the main time i use it, plus scatter 2 looks kinda cool

Would it be preferable to one hand hit 2 or 3 as a multi-pool damager?

Not unless ham cost is a problem, scatter hit is all but worthless in actual dps vs the other attacks.

The only bonus is, as someone stated, it does part dmg to action and mind, however at double the swing speed, so.. Duno, depends on what your fighting.

I removed it from my bar within 2 hrs of using mstr fencer, I use the hit 3 and body hit 3 if I speceficly need to hit the health poor, hit 3 is no delay so it averages out (even with the non-health pool hits) to more then body 3

scatter hit 2 has been known to ignore armor/special defenses (85% kinetic andother people'sdodge/block modifiers meaning nothing)...shhhhhhhhhh don't tellour victims or it will be added to the nerf list as I can't imagine thisbeing intentional.Who says I have toswitch from my 340damagegaffi to my stunner and drain my mind with specials? If you can't figure out the value in that, I don't know what to tell ya.

Think about this way in pvp any organized raid going to have people buffed to wazoo.Their minds must likely going to be extremely lower and an easier task. Now you could go purely random and pray but going with scatter increases your odds ten fold. Now lets put a rifle or my favorite a power hammer bleed on target. Basically all you need is slight push to finish off a target and scatter hit amazingly enough excels at it. Its one of the best moves for pvp depending on the situation. If their un buffed and cant heal might as well go for body hit. If their severly wounded in all pools go for one hand hit 3. Blind, dizzy, lunge, warcry intimadate as needed.

i heard scatter hit may knock your opponent down is that a rumor. using dizzle and scatter be a good combo. I was watching a blademaster dueling a master tka, she was knocking them down with a fencer special. so used all used my effects to see which one she was using that knocked the down, it was scatter hit 2, not lunge2.

The purpose of attacks like Scatter Hit were relevant back when Action and Mind were seen as contributing stats which were used and depleted to use specials, perform skills, and the like. However, as we all know, HAM is simply just three health bars. You don't think of mind as your character's mental capacity; you think of it as your "blue health".

The entire system was flawed from the beginning. This is why Scatter is close to useless. It would have been neat had it let you combine damaging the opponent with limiting their capacity to perform special skills of their own through depleting the remaining two pools. As we all know, this is not the case.
