Thread: Top 5 fixes for this week... 8/3/03
1.HAM reductions for special moves
2. Autodefend, fix it so I can move and not stop and get attacked and be unable to run away.
3. BeserkHAM costs, for failures. In my opinion we should not be hit with the costs of the move when it fails, or at least have it lowered.
4. Add better % for dodge
5. Variety of weapon graphics
1.) I think the HAM for special moves is fine. But, I think the HAM rating on the weapons should be reduced for Ryyk blade, Rancor blade, and curved sword(not sure about stun baton because I haven't used it yet). The vibroblade is fine. Maybe this could set the fencer apart.. being able to use our special move often then other melee classes would fix the description in my opinion.... I use vibroblade mostly because of the decent damage and super low HAM drain, but it just plain ol looks lame. I wanna look like a fencer not a thief with a dagger! LOL!
2.) More weapons... hopefully some actual fencer weapons. Or we should just change the name of the elite profession in my opinion.
Otherwise, I haven't gotten to the point where I've noticed any real problems with the fencer. Maybe we could use a detaunt?
I agree, the HAM for the vibroblade is fine. I haven't tried the other weapons yet, simply because the Ryyk Blade I bought sucks in comparison to the virbo I have. The virboblade does look lame though. I picked fencer because I am a fencer but the weapons on the game haven't been the greastest (and hard to find onmy server)gimmie an old fashion sabre any day.

2. Autodefend, fix it so I can move and not stop and get attacked and be unable to run away. and when being attack by multi MOBs we can hit the MOB we want and don't the one Autodefend wants.
The main issue I have with fencing so far is that annoying -32 hit modifier. If anyone knows a way around that, please fill me in. Otherwise it definitely needs to be reduced.

1. Artisans are going to be able to actually experiment on HAM costs of weapons, that is where our HAM goes not to the Specials although i could be wrong. Also in the upcoming patch they are adding a examin window for specials, to look at HAM costs, damage. So we will have a good Idea of this stuff soon, or very acurate idea rather
2. I would switch this to #1 imo. I dont like the idea of not having defense while running though, maybe just a diff animation for the defense while running.
3. Im gonna disagree on this one, Beserk should be a dangerous thing to use, so use with caution.
4. Not too sure on this one, I have yet to see how the formula actually implements Dodge, Counter-Attack, or even Accuracy - Defense. Cant really say this needs to be fixed or increased, decreased. I think it would be better to try to find out the formula.
5. This does need to be pointed out but in the weaponsmith forum. We really need to concentrate on Fencer stuff. Sure go ahead and let ur weaponsmiths know that there is a interest in this, post on thier forums ( i have) send a PM to the Weaponsmith Correspondent.
I think the auto-defend is the one that needs the most attention atm, HAM costs we will know soon enough, and will be able to check into that when that bridge comes. what i would like to address, or change
1. Auto-defend issue
2.Change Ideal Range for Fencer to 0M, would actually give us a +modifier to hit, MOB's, NPC's PC's there would be no change other than Melee vs Melee. As of right now, most NPC's will switch to a brawler weapon and charge to 0-1m, mobs to 0m, that gives us a -25 to hit i think
needs to be addressed. That is why if you use a Rykk or other weapon with low - 0 to hit modifiers, u get a -30 over MOB's head.
3. Missing Disarm ability. Was supposed to be there if i remember correctly, this would be a very crucial skill to our proffesion.
4. Would like to see askill that addsto Armour Peircing. Would be like a acuracy hit, finding nicks in armour. Yup we get Stun Baton, and Vibroblade AP 1, all other brawler types get at least one weapon that is AP 2. The skill would be just as i said, one time hit that would add to the AP of a weapon +1 so a vibrosword would be AP2 curved would be AP 1.
5. GET A NEW CORRESPONDANT!!!!!!
Yes this auto-defend issue is very irritating. Every time it happens to me in game and I have down time I /bug it.
You guys should to, we will get the problem to them one way or another.
no wonder our correspondent left this thread is almost at the bottom of the page at the time im posting this.
no one else has any concearns about the fencer proff? do you guys think it is pointless to do this? if the second then go bump the thread on the discussion board, only me and janwookie have so far.
there was a exelent post on the Bloodfin Boards that i havnt research in game to see if it is correct.
He said that EVERY other melee proff has 60+ toughness at master except Fencer who has under 30
That needs to be addressed, along with our lunge range is only 12m while everyone else is 15m.

FYI, the announcements say all the professions will be getting a response today.
I hope they post it here manually and don't just forward it to our correspondant - that would blow.
