the other night im pvping with a guy in an imp guild and the guy is hitting me crazy with his stun baton. (imps are known for exploiting A LOT on bria) i die and clone. no problem. check my combat log. my psg and armor are taking away MINOR damage that the baton was doing. the armor and psg were definitely not protecting me enough. yes my armor was in good conidition so was my psg. armor is 39% stun and psg is 45%. i think the stupid scatter hit can be exploited. anyone else notice this?

2 things:

1. was your psg turned off and on again after you shuttled to wherever you were pvp'ing? if you don't turn it off and then back on, no psg protection for j00!

2. are you basing this question on damage amounts listed in combat spam? (i'm a little confused as to what you're basing your question on..) but if you ARE asking based on the amount damage listed in combat spam for Scatter Shiak, then here's a quick note: the combat spam has a bug where it displays the full amount of raw damage being delt - before mitigation, before armor reduction, before synthsteak, before toughness - before everything, essentially.

but if you watch the floaties, you should see the "right" amount of reduced damage.

if it is something other than this, well - maybe you have something new! Screenshots will be necessary for people to take it seriously, though.

The combat log should also display something along the lines of "Your Composite Armor Helmet prevented x points of damage." So I don't think that's what he's talking about.

I knew those fencers were exploiting all along!

Scatterhit is not bugged and it cannot be exploited. And unless you post your combat logs no one can help you here.

Fencers could use a little underhanded exploit to increae their damage output anyway. Fixing that bug with scatterhit was the worst!

We're still working on figuring out what the problem is - there seems to be a way to bypass armor and it's most likely being done on purpose as you say. I can go out for hours on end with my baton using scatterhit regularly and not have scatterhit do anything weird, but there seem to be enough reports of it doing massive damage since the last publish that something has been broken and can be abused.

I highly doubt it's being done on purpose.

Fact is that not a single method of reproducing this that I've seen has reproduced it in my attempts.

Again if anyone can come up with a way to reproduce this reliably please PM me with the steps.

i would really like to put my log here but unfortunately its gone. yes my psg was protecting me and i equipped it again after i shuttled. so was my armor. but they weren't protecting me 45% and 39%. there is no way of checking this because if it is done on purpose other fencers that i know do not know about it and it maybe only that person i pvp'ed with. ill try to put up some evidence.

I have no doubt from the scattered reports (no pun intended) that it is occuring. And I've gotten 3 different methods to attempt to reproduce it from various means, but none have worked on any attempt I've done.

I think however this is an armor issue not a scatter hit issue, and regardless both are touched on pretty damn heavily in the Combat Upgrade.

We need to find out if this is indeed a big enough bug to warrent attention prior to it... I'm not saying it isn't... I'm just saying we need evidence one way or the other.

Because in no way is any Fencer move intended to bypass armor resistance. But given the bugs with PSG's (which never worked as intended), and armor holes and bugs (which have popped up and dissapeared without any identifiable reason), there is a good reason to simply wait this out till we have a totally new system. As the current one is not remaining even in an identifiably similar way.

There are reports of the armor hole resurfacing on the AS boards. Is it possible that shots like scatterhit and spray shot may somehow, at times, be bypassing some or all armor? Not sure how to demo this, but to the original poster, do you wear full armor or just helmet, chest, gloves and boots? I know that you now get hit in the areas not covered by biceps, bracers, and pants by these shots...just trying to solve it, no offense intended if you were wearing full armor.

scatterhit2 as a matter of fact is bugged at disadvatage to the fencer, its animation for the attack is a little too long and can be a problem when your enemy starts running away, and you still finishing off so fancy twirl with your baton.
