I can't duplicate it, I'm sorry. Not sure what it takes, but had a friend wearing full armor and damage was as normal. Had him equip just chestplate, helm, gloves, and boots and was hitting him as normal. Equipped a psg and dmg was reduced further, ate synthsteak and damage was reduced further. All hits were within normal damage range in the floaty damage spam. I'll keep watching, but right now no one that's willing to share has shown how this crazy damage is being done.

Actually I've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that some mobs do hit arms and legs on occasion. It's rare but it hurts. And it's only NPC's not creatures.

Actually there's somewhat of a "4 piece" armor issue going about. Basically for full protection, you only need to wear a helmet, chest, gloves, and boots and it's like you're wearing a full suite of armor. But i've been hearing reports that the devs changed it so you have to wear a full suite to get full protection.

There is an armor hole, again. A buddy of mine went CM, and wanted to test his poisons out. I volenteered, well he did his thing, but just to be a smart a$$, I equiped my PvP T21 wich pupped is 856 max I Hit him with a HS3. he was wearing a 90% energy resist comp helmet. I gave him, in addition to the reg mind damage HS3 does, a 500pnt mindbleed. I checked my combat spam, and I had indeed used HS3 not MS2. When shooting with High ap weapons with high damages, sometimes you do get a random bleed, esp against unarmored targets. you can get them from shooting armored targets as well, but then the game is supposed to take into consideration armor resistance ect. Simply put, when all is said and done, there is no way in h3ll, I should have been able to put that kind of bleed on him. even with a bleeding shot. i dueled someone else and didn't get it. so i dueled my orginal cm buddy again. i got insane amounts of damage against him using headshots, but not with SS2. (Headshot3 is a 3x damage shot, Strafeshot 2 is a 5x damage random pool shot) even when my SS2 hit his mind pool. his helmet took no durability damage either using HS3. Once I shuttled to another sity to pick up some stuff, and came back, the prob dissapeared. He /bugged it, but I don't know if it will do any good.

Anyway, my point is, it could be that he had an armor bug going against you. He may have thought that you just wearing stun armor, or was not paying atten. I'll be honest and tell you that i prob would not have noticed it in the heat of battle, or even if I did, I would not pause and think about it until after said fight was done and over with.

I just adressed this, it only holds true against non NPC monsters. Anything that uses an actual weapon can hit those uncovered locations.

Cpl_Fisher :

Interesting, and this might explain it, but if so it would have nothing to do with Scatter Hit causing it. But if it does explain it it becomes a far more difficult issue to find given that it takes into account someone elses armor but seems to be originating on the attackers end. And since it's not reliably repeatable, that makes it even more difficult to find.

Correct, sometimes just really weird bugs can creep up. My main point was that unless you see it happen more than once, It's best not to cry exploiter. I was on a base takedown not to long ago, there were 3 bases set close together so the turrents created mutually supporting field of fire. one of the turrents locked onto a doc that ran in from our base "safe area" to heal some people who didn't look like they weren't goint to get out of range in time. (seven large turrents HURT) well one of the turrents locked onto him and would not stop targeting him, even when one of the defenders tried to take it under manual control. The doc didn't do anything knowingly to cause this to happen, it was a bug. But what was he to do once he figured out was going on? It was quit obvious that he was still in combat 100m from anything that should be able to attack him, as all the NPC defenders were long dead. run into range so he could be killed and break the agroe?

Make sure that you are not wearing a dress or skirt of any type. These items are factoredin as armor and will draw damage to your unprotected legs (causing u to take huge damage to action pool even with chest, helm, boots, gloves)

also what is ur profesion if u have no melee migation and the imp had a stun baton of 400-500 it is gonna do serious damage even with ur armour.
