They are small men, generally french, who prance around in too tight white suit poking eachother. But in game, we are the people you see beating nunas with a small electrical stick.

Fencing...
think of it like the art of striking w/out being struck, where you can maneuver to the point where most of the time their attacks seem to just slip by you.
think of pirate battles, swords flashing really quickly,not inflicting as much damage as a sword the size of a small house, but still able to impale and slice an opponent.
think of taking this quick fencing style and simply using canes, beating down things that try to hurt you, evading out of the way of their attacks and whacking them.
sure they don't do as much damage as taking a T21 (which STILL lacks a stock, so i don't see how the recoil doesn't rip off your hand) to a person's head and firing away, but i bet you if i hit you with a stick enough times (implying that the stick didn't break) it would start to hurt after a while
and i do agree with the first reply though: you do deserve to get shot for that question

Fencer: All combat styles that use a sword, this includes single and double handed weapons.
SWG fencer: A combat style that makes use of one handed weapons, that have no or light armor piercing (mostly none) while still being able to lay the smack done on various creatures and other players.

In SWG fencers are melee fighters who fight using one handed weapons, they have high speed, high defence but low damage.

Hmm...if you have been reading a lot about fencers, you should already know what we are.
A person swinging a stick when they should be using a sword with high defenses and speed, but poor damage.

I allways thought about fencers about beeing the equivalent of rogues or rangers in everquest

Everquest rogues do massive damage but have no real defenses...at all.
Everquest rangers do massive damage when they've acquired their AA abilities and using a limited duration special but have very few defenses. If you are a believer in "tank" rangers then please go outside and slash your wrists now. The term "mana sink" is more appropriate.
The term "fencer" dates back to the late roman era and included knights in full armor plate carrying around a huge 2 handed sword. The current use of fencer relates more to sport fencing and pirate movies where the sword is little more than a sharpened car antennae or at least moves in that way. Calling a gladiator who preferred swords a fencer is just as appropriate as calling a victorian era swordmaster who preferred rapiers or epee's a fencer.
