Thread: Do any of you _not_ use batons?
Of course, i always keep my 295 and 345 max damage gaffi's with me just in case, and a 285 acklay stun baton for pvp. Now that i've got combat medic i can toss out 600 damage per tick poisons and outlast my opponent until one scatter hit will kil them

I know its the best weapons we have (which really bites, every fencer i know complains about us having to use sticks instead of swords), but most of the time I prefer to use our lesser weapons simply because i like them more
I've got a batch of 183 max damage sliced vibroblades (was like 26% damage slices on them if i recall, might try better later) and a couple curved swords and Ryyk blades I use.
As master fencer, Combat medic 4004, I can take out nearly anything on dantooine without armor and using that 183 max vibroblade. Only things i'd worry about is DJK's and force crystal hunters.
It's kind of rewarding to fight without armor. TKM's are always bragging about it and not many who arent tka will do it. I solo'd the whole Kunga stronghold on dantooine last night with no armor and a vibroblade (my prized butterknife :smileyhappy

So, any of you other fencers prefer to use our sword based weapons, despite their relative ineffectiveness?
Absolutely! My primary weapon is a Vibroblade, because of the sound they make on contact. Easily the coolest sound effect in the game. If you're one for ICP, or have ever heard them...its like the stabbing sound effect they have in "I Stab People." Sooooooooooooooooo cool.

I have no problem using a stun baton because it seems like a practical weapon someone would use if it were available to them in this era. Same goes for the vibroblade. I wouldn'tuse the word"realistic," but believable enough.
I think the gaderiffi should be something you would use if you were roleplaying someone a little bit more low tech, not necessarily a tusken, but maybe a thug in the style of one of Jabba's henchmen.
I use a rancor tooth enhanced ryyk blade with 67-303 damage, sliced for damage. I also have a number of curved swords just slightly below this range. I actually did not pay much money for these, it's possible the vendor just had extra teethlying around. The variance is poor and mitigation would negate these swords, but it's usually enough for any PvE situation where I would have used a regular non-loot, damage sliced gaderiffi.

I'm an Advanced Fencer. I don't need to use any "Stun Batons" or "Gaffi Sticks," I stick to what works. Good old twigs. Who wants a fancy Stun Baton when you can have a trust tree branch there, 24/7
