Thread: Why do I have to carry a Tuskan Wacking Stick?

I want to be a fencer and have a nice fencer weapon. Scanning through the boards, is there any word on more "appropriate" weapons for fencers in the future?

Impatiently waits for a sword..................Yeah I can't understand how a weapon I earned a cert for at One-handed 1 can be the best possible weapon, but sadly it is....wish the stun batons were a little better but since stun layered armor is rare they can still be a very nice weapon to have. Plus all the other stun weapons in the game stink...maybe the Jawa rifle is the exception.

The Geonosian Sonic Pistol is a pretty nice stun damage weapon. And, a Stun Baton made with Acklay bone is just about as nice.

Ok disregarding the geo-lab stuff......the other stun weapons stink......man I wish I had one the Acklay Stun Baton's...tried the cave twice but both times my group was ravaged

The reason you are forced to carry a gaffi stick is because you can't spell Tusken.

ok i am a master pistoleer and my tangle pistol is 2.1 130-180 dmg and it does stun damage it slices right through comp so i disagree there r other good stun weapons and i have a ryyk blade that is better than any stun or gaffi stick i have seen and the ryyk blade definaetely looks the coolest out of them all

Ryyk Blades? They aint that cool lookin' and they aint the best weapons around. Gaffi Sticks may not look that nice, but guess what, usually the best weapons don't look extremely cool (barring Lightsabers for some people). Form comes after Function, and if that means I need to use a rusty club for a weapon, then so be it.

Give me whips and chains... or a good tomahawk instead of the chain. But Fencer is a one handed weapon player. We had this discussion in Beta about this very thing. People seem to think because the profession is labeled 'Fencer' that it's all about having a foil. It's not. The profession includes all one handed weapons and focuses on finess and footwork over power. The community decided to call the profession Fencer and to this day we're still fielding questions on 'Where's my foil?'.

Last time I checked, a long rusty pipe with a weighted club and a point on the end would be handled with 2 hands. Since a one-handed weapon is supposed to be light and elegant, so it's perfectly reasonable to ask for a weapon that would actually be handled with one hand. As a rapier/foil/saber is the most effective one-handed weapon design, why shouldn't we get one? I mean Swordsmen get a giant scythe that can hit people 10 meters away when the design makes it physically impossible to do anything other than poke people, or bash them with the bladed hilt and very close range, why can't we get an actual1 handed weapon?
Plus, examples of actual star wars one-hand weapons on the weapon thread include various types of rapiers featured in the SW books.
