Novice fencer here 0101 and loving it so far. Not a holo jobbie..did this one for me.

anyway i'm reading these forums a ton and see to go up footwork 1st for speed and for great exp hunt the hurtons on dant.

So I grab my gaffi and head to dant..grab a mission and am promptly staring at the cloning and insurance terminal. So let re-read that post..ah "get yourself some good doc buffs". Missed that one. Did that and Repeat. Took out 1 howler lair and headed to the huntress lair. Was doing fine until the mind got down..then had to quit doing specials and hope the bar would start to recover...well long story short..It didn't.

are the hurtons still a bit out of my league or are my tactics off.

Im opening with blind on all that attack me..then trying to land intimidate on em to reduce damage. then 1 by 1 im cho sun (my new best friend) till their dead.I am novice doc so heals aren't a problem. and im drinking the brandy to boost mind. Also wearing composite as without armor I was being eaten alive.

any pointers????

mind foods, good kinetic resist armour. buffs, vibrosword, savage quenkers.

quenkers have a bit more resistance to kinetic, but also have half the ham.

a wonderful new toy has entered the game....

Vasarian Brandy made with Bio-engineer additives

about +400 mind, focus, and willpower for 33minutes.

take two and call me in the morning, lol!

Scylla naturally has some what inferior resources, I got some that are about 360 boost for a total of 720. with a good doctor buff and two hits of brandy, my only ham cost is about 10 mind... with the stun baton.

Try this. Get dancer and musician mind buffs, as well as the doc buffs, put on some ubese kinetic armor, head out to your mission. Drink two doses of brandy (assuming the filling is 50 or less), and go to town. if you see your mind bar start to drop for some reason, take a muon. If your mind goes down after that, you need to lay off the force sensitive huurtons and go back to the normal ones.

Also, use lunge(1|2) and warcry(1|2) to change their posture and keep them down, and you can kill them at your leisure. I did quenkers almost exclusively, and when you're solo (or grouped with your XP bonus droid/pet), you only get 2 mobs per spawn, 6 total. I would lunge, warcry, and intim both in turn, and then wail on one til dead. That keeps the second one off your back until you have time for it, at which point you can renew your posture change/warcry/intim on it. Rinse and repeat.

Master Brawler helps a ton with this. Warcry2/Intim2 are much more likely to stick, and the full-blown KD is always very nice to have.

One more thing, invest in some Warcry/Intim BE clothes. You can get up to a +25 bonus for both with 2 items of clothing (I use paramilitary camos and a reinforced shirt, which a comp chessplate on top). I almost never miss a warcry or intim anymore.

Thanks for all the replies. great info.

thanks a ton for the quenker tip. 250k exp in 2hrs last night. footwork 2 woot!

I'll bump my focus up more...what do you suggest i take it off? health maybe?

Just as an update...i went and got some 80% kinetic composite (oh my god night and day). each piece except 1 got a 30+ ham slice..I was elated. anyway takes doc buffs and 2 brandys to get it all on. When the doc buffs wore off my secondaries were all down to 1 except focus and will..keep chuggin brandy and still im not having any problems with quenkers. the armor is stopping a ton of whats coming at me. hit for 230 it absorbs about 210 of it.

but should i get used to this?? seems too good to be true. I wasn't even worried about specials at all on these guys..would attack the lair and just sit back and pop a heal once in a while for aciton since secondaries were at 1.

but the reason I like fencer so much is the state change attacks.. I love to throw the blind dizzy and try to knock stuff down. kind of a "how ya liking that vision now" type thing.. also im reallly starting to see the nice effect COB makes.

something you might want to try, is to put center of being in a looping macro so you're always centered. It's very useful. The number of your center of being duration is how long it lasts in seconds. So your macro will look something like this

/center

/pause 22

/ui action toolbarSlot23

put the macro into the 12th slot on the bottom row and activate it. When you want it to stop type /dump into the console

And leveling with doctor buffs is really really easy I get buffs, powerboost (im a TKM) and then now i don't even use my CoB macro. I grab some savage quenker missions and just start fighting. I usually alt-tab out and do some browsing around and when i come back 2 savage quenkers are dead

anyway, good luck with the macro

I'm working fencer right now (1/4/2/2) and a master doc, mon calamari. What I did was max out my mind and all the secondaries, and then put the rest into health & action equally. I end up with about 350 health & action, but if you're constantly buffed, who cares? My mind is 1300/800/650, with food, buffs and muon, we're looking at 3200/2900/2600. Now, I never mindbuff, and I've reserved muon for emergencies only, and I got one case of BE brandy dirt cheap for 175K (+417 each, 35 minutes, take 2) so I'm constantly 2100/1620/1470 on my mind. It's nice to solo warlords easily at the tusken fort while surrounded by snipers.

ah, my point was, which I forgot to mention: If you're always fighting buffed, and you now have the buff timer, you can do the same thing I do with the stats. All you have to do is watch the clock a bit and run like the wind when you have 2 minutes or so left. Get rebuffed, and get back out there.
