Thread: Has anyone caused a knockdown yet with dizzy/lunge?
I have lunge 2, so I haven't tried dizzy/lunge as I use lunge 2 instead.
I do know this however. Last night when I lunged a mob it would fall down, get right back up, but then not be able to attack me for about 5 or 6 seconds. Then I would lunge again.
Today, I lunge, it falls down, gets right back up, and immediately starts attacking again. Not to mention I cant lunge again for 30 seconds.
I'm really close to throwing in the towel on this game...
Yes, in fact, I use it all the time. It does work, but like anything it's not 100%. When it does work it's an absolute lifesaver though. I love seeing them try to get up from a kneeling postion and fall flat on their back. Sometimes they stay down for a long time, sometimes they get right up. It's really the luck of the draw.

Yeah, I meant post patch. I didn't seem to get one to work at all. I even got a failed posture change message once on an npc that kneeled on his own, and then I just tried lunging him to prone.
I tried it a few times with a fellow TKA to test out the new patches. I just had him stand there with no specials (btw TKA are tough).I'm just a novice fencer with one bar up.I dizzied him first. But it took a couple of hits to make him dizzy. Once I dizzied him I did a lunge and down he went. He only stayed down for about 5-6 seconds, somewhere around there.
I tried to lunge again. But kept getting the "..failed to change poster message.." or something to that effect. I can't remember the exact words.
Maybe somebody else knows, but how long does dizzy effect a person? I will try this out tonight if no one knows. But I think the defense against posture changes and dizzy and all the others are working. Eventually you can make any person dizzy, but it might always be on the first hit. So the higher level PC or NPC you attack, the better resist. Does make sense.
I wanted to try this again while PvP'ing. After the battle and trying different tactics I found it not to be a huge difference than b4 the patch, except for the 30sec rule. I have to re-think my stradegies on PvP to include that.
But overall I think it's hard to say if this last patch really harmed Melee in a big way or not. If u do pvp as a melee, that better not be your only weapon. You need some kind of ranged (be a pet, faction pets, weapon) attack.
The biggest problem I have right now is judging the distance for my character to actually hit some1. Feels like im playing a FPS to make sure i'm in the right position to hit something. I now u can tell how far they are, but with server lag, client lags and thousands of other factors, its hard to find the right distance. With melee classes that is.
I'm only a novice brawler, with box 3...
Before this recent patch, I was able to go take on some decent NPCs, dizzy them, and then lunge them, and althought not 100%, I would be able to attack them, and then they would try and get up, and most of the time fall back down.
Now, after the patch, I'm attacking the same NPCs, dizzy them, lunge them once and get them on their knees, most of the time the timer wears off, and they can stand up (I have a 4.2 speed sword). Some of the times, they fall on their back, then the dizzy wears off, and they immediately stand up again.
It SUCKS, I was about to go get some decent swords, Ryylak, Curved and Vibros, but now, unless they fix this, I don't know what I going to do.

Finally managed to make some people fall. Two, actually. In a row. I was surprized.
Of course, the dizzy wore off in about five seconds so it was utterly useless =/
There was a chance that you'd fall but..you could always get up. Which is why they shouldnt have touched our combo.
