Fencer Archive
Thread: Time for a change.
This is a post that I have gone back and forth over creating for about a week now, but I have accepted the conclusion that it needs to be made.
I will be stepping down as the Fencer Correspondent.
I’m not going to try and give a big grandiose speech or anything. I’m not mad at anyone or anything like that. I just think it’s time I gave someone else a chance. I also have some personal things going on IRL and don’t feel like I would be able to give my full attention here for awhile.
I’m not just going to up and vanish, though. Consider this 2-week’s notice so we can get a good replacement. Over the next week see if you think any one name sticks out as who you would like to be the next Correspondent. Once we have someone we want, I will stay on for another week to help get them going. I’d be happy to show them some strategies I use to bend the Dev’s ear, and the best lines of communication to use to get a direct answer. After these 2 weeks are over, I will completely resign and the new Corr. will step up. I’ll let the Dev’s know I am leaving and tell them who we have chosen as a replacement. They will pretty much accept my proposal for a replacement, so you guys can have who you want as long as they can accept the rules surrounding the position.
I want to end this by saying that I appreciate the time you have allowed be to be here in your company. It’s been a real pleasure to serve you. ![]()
Sincerely,
Raphayl
Please feel free to make your nominations below for the next Fencer Correspondent.

You were the best correspondent ive ever seen on the swg boards
/Salute
I just need to know this...
after whatever amount of time, will you be coming back?
if yes... then ok. you can leave.
if no... then no, you can't ![]()
You are the best correspondent of them all. The only reason you could possibly have to leave is the dreaded Real Life. and real life problems can be resolved, allowing you to come back. And because you can come back, there's really no reason to leave at all. Appoint (or have us elect) a 'deputy correspondent' to make sure we don't get completely crazy while you're gone, letting them know that as soon as you come back, you're back, and they're not needed any more ![]()
Your dedication to the profession has been an inspiration to me since my early days as an aspiring fencer. I wish there was something I could do to change your mind but I understand when real life things have to become a priority and I encourage you to do what is right. I truly believe we are loosing the greatest correspondant to ever have the title. The next person will have some pretty heavy shoes to fill.
I hope everything fairs well for you. May the force be with you.

NOOOOOOoooooo............ Raphayl is the Best Correspondent on the forums, thanks for all the tests you have run. Sorry to see you go, good luck and safe travels.

I haven't been a fencer for long, but everything that I wanted to know about this profession I could find in one of your posts. You are a gem to any novice. If every correspondent had the dedication and precision and thoroughness that you have... well, anyone would be able to get help in any profession easily.
You made my novice days fun. I only hope that the next correspondent takes after you and your ability to answer EVERY question.
