Thread: Certain armors only for fencer.

Since we are the tanks of the game maybe we could get certain armor that is only wearable by us?

That would be interesting and a boon for both armorsmiths and fencers. I'd love to see new fencer weapons in the game including race specific weapons. How about some more "futuristic" weapons as well like a monomolecular katana which would have AP2 and nice damage? You can extend the monomolecular to most other types of bladed weapons as well. How about introducing versions of a FENCER weapon - foils, epees, and the like?

Now now, don't forget about the Master Wookies, will the armor be wearable by all races or will the wooks just get some **edit** bamboo hunks of junk?

Katana is like a samurai sword and we are not samurai, plus its a 2-hand weapon. 
Also we dont need AP2, its the swordsman and pikemans job to do that kind of damage. I dont want to know how powerful we would be if we had the swordsman equivilent of a Power Hammer.

first off fencers are not tanks. pikeman are the tanks and to a lesser extent swordsman. but i do beleive that certain classes should have certain armors that only they can wear.

Katanas are one-handed OR two-handed weapons. Yes, they are more effective two-handed but can be used one-handed and I was just using it for an example anyway. Yes, I am fully aware we are not samurai - again, just using it for an example/reference that all of us should be familiar with. Since you brought up we're not samurai, well, not to mention we aren't police officers either but one of the main weapons is a baton - go figure.
Why is it the swordsman and pikeman's "job" to do that kind of damage? Let's not bring "real life" into this game since we're dealing with fiction here but if we do bring in "real life" my first question will be: why are the two main weapons most fencers use a gaffi stick and a stun baton? I know SOE grouped one-handed weapons into "fencer" but how about they introduce a new weapon that is an ultratough, fast, and decent damaging (gaffi damage or better) bladed weapon along the lines of an epee or foil. They have LucasArts behind them so someone can come up with a cool frigging name for it other than epee or foil..

If Fencers were to have armour, it should NOT be heavy tank armour, but light-weight, low resist armour, perhaps giving some base bonuses to dodge and speed (not huge amounts if any).

Wakizashi = shorter, onehanded sword
Katana = two handed weapon with rare exceptions. i.e. the draw

Fencers aren't tanks? Why do I always get stuck tanking when I'm ina group right next to my buddy who's a master pike? We hold up about the same. If this is true, what am I supposed to do when I'm not tanking in battle? I'd just like to hear what backs up your statement.
