Thread: Just an idea, plz don't laugh at me :P
How about we get an ability to chuck our sword at the enemy which would either hit him and cause damage, or make him dive to prone in an attempt to avoid being impaled? This may be the stupidest idea I've ever had, but it really seems like it could happen since a BH pistol specialist can hit me in the eye with extreme precision from 60m away while I'm facing away from him. I just wanna be able to buy me a bit of time to escape before they rain gunfire on me as I run helplessly away!! ![]()
(I'm bored.)
What do we use after we have thrown away our weapon? One of the number one rules in a combat situation is do not lose control of your weapon, which throwing it away does. Especially with the final costs of a good weapon being around 50-60k by the time you get a good slice done. It could always be done to where we don't really loose the weapon we throw, but I find that option rather cheezy.
However, I have thought about this same thing. My thoughts were more along the line of Fencers getting throwing knives, or throwing stars (being small bladed weaponry) and being able to throw them a short (16m?) distance to either strike or otherwise impede our target. They would have charges to represent an exhaustable supply of knives (or whatever) that will eventually run out.
This still borders on the territory of ranged weaponry though, so I'm not sure it's right for the Fencer community. Anyone else have thoughts on this line of thinking?

Well, what I kinda meant was I'd like to be able to throw my sword at the enemy since it's not really going to have any effect on them if I start smacking them with it close quarters combat anyhow
However, that could just be because I'm not all that far in fencer just yet..Master, someday!
Anyways, I don't think something like throwing knives or something would be so unreasonable. Probably wouldn't have all that long a range, being a thrown weapon..so 16m like a flame single or something would be reasonable. Besides, aren't knives a one handed sword, even if you're throwing them? ![]()
I don't know how expensive things are on your server, but I've never paid over 5k for a melee weapon, and a slice is less than 3k

I could be wrong, but the spirit of the post seems to more make fun of the fact that a BH can eyeshot us for insame dmg from a max distance, while we can do absolutly nothing.
I personally thing a 40-50m eyeshot is BULL_SH IT. I don't even se how this isa repeatable attack other than say at PB, and thats a maybe.
So I feel that throwing my sword at him/her is a feasible tactic.
We could call the move and it only works on Bounty Hunters
/Melee1BullDookie2 = sword thrown and impaled into the eye of a BH for a 1000dmg mind bleed.
I think its a GREAT idea... you got my vote. I'd pay 40k for a weapon, to see a BH crap in his pants when that happens. And I think just for fun, ONE time, I'll /tell him/her and say "I owned you, you suck so bad". Then then can nerf the move.
ROFL.....

Weapons are a bit more expesive on my server. Around 8-10k, and a slice costs about 2k. Together that's still only 10-12k. Your combined total was about 8k. My 50k figure comes form teh fact that it is rare to get exactly the slice you want the first time. Due to the high speed bonuses at Master, a speed slice is completely wasted money, so there goes half of the weapons I buy to get sliced. Of the weapons I get sliced that turn out to be damage slices, it may take a few to get a damage slice between 30-40%. Less of a damage boost than that and you are reducing your effectiveness considerably.
So, at your figure of 8k, even if you only took 5 slices to get a 30-40% damage slice that's 5 x 8 = 40K credits. At my server's prices it would be 5 x 10 = 50K. Sometime I might get lucky and get the slice I want right away, but other times I could go 10 tries and still not get what I really wanted.

So that 50k is still more than one sword. Throw the reject swords not the good one.

I proposed throwing knives awhile ago... If we could earn the right to duel wield (make it an advanced move), the second weapon could be a dagger, which could be thrown.
Either that, or some sort of disabling blow which slows them down...

Fencers are elegant and graceful fighters, and duelests of the past have always prided themselves on their marksmanship with a thrown weapon. In the middle of a battle, it would perhaps be completely fitting for a fencer, as he charged, strafing left and right, to unseath a set of knives, held between his fingers and one in his teeth. Throwing them with deadly accuracy so that we might be able to have a chance of finishing the opponent off when we got up close.
Because of our comparatively low damage compared to our other classes, out out "set up attack stance" delay, I think it should only be fair that we're able to use this weapons. I can't see a heavey swordsman using them for thier ability to attack the mind makes up for it, and definately not a Pikeman, who has the strongest hits in the game. As for a TKA, with thier speed+amazing damage, it wouldn't be fair to give them something such as this. For fencers though, who have been aced out of our resistances, HAM costs, and speed, we qualify for these weapons, not only for balance, but for realism.
