Maybe the idea of a throwing knife could be used to act as a longer lunge. So, that we can stop a ranged runner and get to them. Can extend the range on it to the range we can follow at. Would creat a posture down like lunge. Would be more realistic than just extending our range on lunge. Think something along these lines has been mentioned before--hamstring hit?

LOL

I just had a vision on a seen in the 3 Musketeers.

Athos: "Hey check out my new sword technique"

Athos then throws his Rapier at the straw dummy pierceing its heart.

Aramis: "Only Athos would devise an attack that would disarm himself"

Or something along those lines

I dont know if any of you have read it or not but in one of the newer Starwars Books called Shatter Point ,wich i believe takes place a few months after the second movie, Mace Windu has a foe who is force sensitive and he and all of his warriors use vibro blades and vibro shields attatched at their fore arms.

I think that could be a valid idea and it could be placed within the master fencing tree so that dabblers wouldnt be able to equip the shield effectively unless they were a blade master. what do you guys think?

Perhaps the ability to throw daggers, maybe. Something for those kiters at least : )

i hate to say it, but i don't want any type of thrown weapon. it blurs the line between us and a ranged combatant. i guess maybe i enjoy being limited and somewhat ineffective in some situations. it's either a sadistic tendency, or it's just that when i do win, it feels more glorious. as many have said, if i didn't want a challenge, i'd go get a flamethrower. maybe i should just coat my sword in chemicals and set it afire. there's some special damage. and if i'm ever in battle, and stumble into a parade, i can use my secondary 'Baton' certification, and twirl and toss to amaze the young and the old alike. Fear my fantastically funny foibles fools!

that was uncalled for: when you hit alliteration, you know it's time to end the post.

True, Altair...Very rewarding when you get to whack someone PvP and they're ranged. Although I've only done this twice, it rocked each time!! I was all swing, and whoooosh, and slash, and cut, and wrraarrrrrr!!!...ahem, anyways..Yeah, I guess that would kinda suck. I could always /slap them when there is a gap between myself and my opponent...That attack NEVER misses

Well, after last night, i'm starting to rethink what i want. I was a declared rebel in Theed. yeah, i know, bad idea. but the other declared imperial and avoided confrontation and had a nice discussion about the state of the GCW.

as i was talking to him, another declared imperial came through, sending his pets after me and once i reacted (i wasn't watching the radar during my conversation) he kited me, incapped, and then a deathblow. and just before that i had had a duel with someone in full composite. and even worse, my autofollow doesn't work at the moment. it merely turns out my auto-run. lunge is good, but it's only good enough to get in one attack. so i can make them kneel, bleed them, and then they kill me by kiting again.

without autofollow working (and usually even with) it's just not feasible to win a fight no matter how good you are. i haven't found a way, anyway. i should have used my pets, i guess. but that always feels so crappy.

i really think the /stick would be best. that way we don't have a 15 meter range with a short blade, and if they truly can move faster than us, they'll get away, which i think is fair. yeah, the on screen animation might be weird, but i'm willing to lose that for the chance of winning. /stick 4m, then burst run, then wail away. if they're faster on their feet (Exploration IV on a moutainside for instance) they can get away.

/slap... that's a good idea. if i can't catch them to kill them, i can at least give everyone watching a show.
